Newmar gas generator location

Many newer gas models have the generator under the passenger side.

I see other manufacturers have gas generators on the drivers side.

I don't believe you'll see an exhaust directly under a slide, I believe RVIA rules prevent that (there's a good possibility of getting CO from the exhaust into the coach).

The Gen on gas coach would be on the opposite side from a bedroom slide, in compartment rear of duel tires.

Yup, passenger side just behind tires and then Newmar routed the exhaust under the coach and out behind the rear tires on the driver’s side. Great that it doesn’t exit on the patio side!

Thanks all,

On my Damon the generator is just in front of my rear dual, next to tg f53 exhaust.

Any difference in noise/vibration with the Newmar generator in the back passenger side?

Would I be correct in saying having the generator on the passenger side cuts down on noise for your neighbors patio area?

Also as a newmar is better insulated than say my Damon, will generator noise and vibration be less?

To be different, the generator on my gasser is behind the propane tank on the drivers side under the full slide. Both are just behind the FRONT wheel. The exhaust is routed to the front of the mh and exits just in front of the tire.

Most of my 37' coach's never hear or felt that much the Gen operating or noise had to look at dash light to make sure it was running.
With the shorter Bay Star chassis's missing the extra 7' can see the difference for location where it is on previous post.
In the Bay Star section of QT's # 3 there was a problem on the first BS builds of to long a wiring harness that was dropping to road surface or tail pipe, haven't seen it mentioned lately on newer BS's but if you have a older BS you may want to check out the thread.

In this 2018 video of a 3401 Bay Star it seems to be in the same place as yours but the exhaust pipe looks like it comes straight out unless you have something different (better) or I am missing something?

Was about to say the same thing. Our gennie is on the passenger side behind the rear wheels and under our bedroom slide. The exhaust exits there too. It's not directly under the slide but it is behind the rear wheels, maybe a foot away. We don't open the bedroom window on that side of the slide when the gennie is running.

I don't have a picture, but on our 3406 the bedroom slide on the passenger side also houses the bunks for the kids so it would cover up the generator exhaust on that side. Therefore they routed it across the coach and just aft of the rear wheels. The added bonus is that it does not exit on the patio side, but in reality I wouldn't want to be relaxing outside with the generator running anyway. Inside is relatively quiet so it doesn't bother me.

Yeah, probably not going to be sitting outside with the generator on anyway. If we needed it to run the AC, I'd imagine it would be too hot to be sitting out there anyway. Honestly, if it was that hot, we'd be on full hook ups and park.

Sadly, our generator sits on the passenger side, and belches exhaust onto the patio :( Fortunately, we only camp once or twice a year when we're running the generator and want to be hanging around outside. If it were more, we'd definitely get a gen-turi. It's just shocking to me they wouldn't run the exhaust over to the drivers' side.
