Newmar Increases Production

Hi All:
Upon returning from the July 4 shutdown Newmar will increase production to 45 coaches per week (9 coaches per day). This is an increase of 5 coaches per week (1 coach per day).

Before our visit last August, I had heard that they might go to 9 per day so we asked about it during our tour. We were told that they could handle it.

That is a 12.5% production increase. I hope they added 12.5% (or more) staff to Quality Control.

How do they add staff for one model if they only have one production line?

Hi All:
While the New Aire will add orders to the backlog that might not be there if the brand was not there; the added employees will be used throughout production. Story on the street is Newmar has over 1K backlog. That's not a misprint, it's really over 1K of new orders for coaches in the backlog.

Hi USMCRET,
Don't need to increase Camp Newmar. What is needed is parts, parts and more parts. Every time I come here I get the yellow card of death. The yellow card in the windshield means parts are on order. Right now I am at Camp Newmar with the yellow card. Sometimes I think this is a soccer match and I am in the penalty box. Years ago I gave up trying to determine when I will leave Camp Newmar. The wife no longer travels with me to Camp Newmar. Since 05 we've done all the area attractions and restaurants. It is no fun for her. There are ways to fix this problem, but it would add cost to the servicing of a coach. Newmar will need to do something. All these new and old coaches will require servicing. Newmar has months of backloged owners waiting to get service.

Increased production

I have a 2004 Dutch Star. The two main reasons I picked this year is- No DEF needed and a lot of people that had Newmar's stated that the Dutch Star, back in the production year 2004 weren't mass produce . I hope the quality doesn't suffer. One day someones new 2017 Newmar, will be mine.

I've been in process with our dealer since the last week in April for a 2018 MADP. It took a few weeks to,get through interior decor and special choices. Last Friday we returned our signed Production Report for our coach. Today our dealer inquired at an estimate on coach completion. Her response was he's a lucky one as our coach is in Run #5 and shows delivery date to Steinbring as 8/3/17. I'm not exactly sure what run #5 exactly means and hopefully someone can give some insite. We are estactic at that delivery schedule, the only problem (if you can call it that) is the middle two weeks of Aug we wil be in Kauai. So we are looking at a trip 1st or 2nd week of Sept for pick up. Oh the wait....

Hi Hmf23,
Run 5 would be the 5th run of 9 coaches (daily production) for that model year. Coaches take:
1. Chassis Preparation = 3 days
2. Production Build = 4 days
The above is for all coaches.
3. Paint preparation and paint from 3 to 21 days depending on the brand and model of coach.
4. Complete assembly (awnings, etc) a few hours.
5. Final Quality Control (This could be a few hours to a couple of days depending on brand and model.)
