I have a 2002 KSDP 3669 with 67,xxx miles. Other than routine replacement items (tires, shocks etc) and routine maintenance (oil, filters, etc) this motorhome has been a pleasure to own/drive. If you have any specific questions, ask away. Lots of knowledgeable people willing to offer advice and answer questions.

Welcome to iRV2.
Condition and service records; if your looking at used units.
If you've never been RVing before , I'd say to rent a rig for several weeks to make sure the lifestyle suits you, before you take the big $$$$ plunge.

Diesel or gas? Year range would help.

Why are you limiting yourself to a KS? If looking at a specific one, please tell us if it is a KSDP or a KSCA, and what year.
FWIW, We bought a 2003 KSCA new and drove it almost 100,000 trouble free miles. Wish I had never sold it.

Hello all - just purchased a 1992 Kountry Star 5.9L Cummins diesel pusher with 112,000km, I think besides a sticky front brake system it's in pretty good shape. Can anyone recommend a comprehensive VIN decoder for this year? Also, are there any known problems I should know about? I'm just about to drive it across the country, so figured it'd be wise to ask
Thanks in advance guys, Mike

Welcome KountryBoy!
You came to the right place for asking questions. Lots of smart and experienced people here willing to help those of us with less experience.
I'm just into 2 years an RV. We love our Kountry Star. Looked at a lot of Dutch Stars before we came across our 3907. Liked the Dutch Stars but all sold too quick before we could buy. No regrets.
Suggest you put some basic info in your signature line about your coach. You will get more accurate information when asking questions if it is clear what year, model, chassis etc. you have questions about.
Newmar makes quality RVs. Take care of it and it will give you great service.
Best of luck and safe travels.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum and irv2, Kountryboy.
Age of the coach can not get VIN information in COM_NET link, like coach's 2000 and up.
Can give you a Brochure and Owners Guide 1997 oldest we have for systems in your coach.
There are many old coach links within the links below in my signature that will help also.
This link will get you into info 1999 and up about things that may have a fix for items in your coach.
When you need help start a New Thread so your question will be answered by everyone on forum.
Enjoy the forum and safe travels.

Thanks !
Thanks to you both - had to take time to attend to some life stuff, but I plan to be asking a few questions here and there trying to sort out where the most knowledgeable shops are in the Kingston (Ontario, Canada) area. Cheers!
