Newmar Kountry Star slide problems

I have a 2008 Kountry star with 4 slides. One slide has been scratching the ceramic tiles on the floor. The slide has been "repaired" by the manufacturer twice and twice by the dealer. They say the slide floor is "sagging" and they can't seem to fix it. Has anyone else heard of this problem, or is unique to my coach? I've already had the entire ceramic floor and underlayment replaced due to cracked tiles. Thank you for any information you can share.

Is this coach still in warranty? If so then Newmar needs to step up to the plate and make the proper repairs; even if it means building a new slide out room and/or floor. Have you looked under the floor to see if something is caught between it and the main floor? You can cut a 2x4 diagonally and use the two pieces as a wedge to drive the room up onto to get clearance between the floors. Be careful not to go to high or the room will hit the ceiling or roof of room will crush top seal.

If you are still under warranty call them. If what you are saying about how they have handled the problem so far, that is not acceptable.
Dont do a thing to the slide yourself, it may void the warranty.
Stay on them, like wizard said, make them replace the slide.
the way the industry is right now, who knows, Newmar may follow the rest of them.

Thanks for joining us on the Newmar forum Kris with your problem.
With all that has been done placing new sub-floor to support slide as it rolls over tile floor would have thought that would have fixed the problem. The rollers must be of a different type to travel over a tile floor rubber instead of hard type that most of us have on our slides that travel over a rug.
The tile floor has a heat grid under it for heating the tile floor as a option I think, do you have the heat grid?
You are the first that I'm aware of that has brought this problem to the forum.
Like everyone has said Newmar needs to get involved again and was this dealer in communication with Newmar when they were doing there part of fix.
Maybe someone with same problem will chime in here with this same problem if they are aware of it when they now check their floor.
Keep us informed would like to know how they can finally resolve you problem.

"007", jurzbill, RV Wizard, Thank you so much for your responses. I'm so glad to read that our coach appears to have a unique problem, and not one that anybody else is sharing in.
We took the coach to a Newmar recommended "Platinum" dealer yesterday and finally received what we feel is the correct diagnosis of our problem. The slide arm was welded too low and the slide drops in the front and drags on the floor. The metal flashing on the inside of the slide is also bending now. This appears to be a manufacturing defect (thankfully we are within the 5 yr. structural warranty period) that will require the slide to be removed, the weld broken, re-welded, the room resettled, possibly the graphics on the outisde repainted to line up again....and then we have to address the problem of the scratched tiles on the floor and if they can be replaced without being obvious. Frankly, we've lost faith in this coach, it will be interesting how Newmar will handle this.

One thing we are grateful for and that is the great reputation Newmar has earned. However, we have frankly lost confidence in the structural integrity of this particular coach, and their ability to correctly diagnose and repair the problem. I hope your right, I think we will be in for a very interesting situation as to how they will handle this
