Bob, let me know what you do with your rock guard. I am looking at alternate designs and materials in hopes of avoiding this problem again. DAV5942 thanks for spell checking Stuart.

Will let you know what I do with the guard Jerry, and I respectfully disagree with "everything is engineered better" on a Liberty...

If I were looking conversion,I'd look at Marathon in San Antonio,FL by the way...

The folks here at Howard RV took the rock guard off and were able to straighten the angle such that it really doesn't show, other than a slight ripple in the angle where it was intially bent. The letters and rubber went back to their original shape and it'll work for me.

I'll let the folks in Nappanee assess the guard and make a determination at that time whether or not to replace it.
If nothing else,I save freight by waiting to replace it in Nappanee...

Right on Bob. As we said did ours twice with a mallet and block of wood. Straightened the angle iron and the chrome Newmar no problem.

I thought the guard was too heavy and thing would shoot out from under it. When I was traveling, I removed the Newmar metal cutout and approximately 10 lbs of weight. Since I have removed all the decals and plastic tape from the outside of my MH, you would have a hard time guessing which MH I have.

On my way back to Liberty this afternoon. Yesterday I was able to compare a Liberty XLII next to a Marathon XLII. There are several design and engineering differences between them, starting with the electrical system, HVAC and foor layouts. So far, I am very impressed with Liberty's engineering differences. Not sure what the outcome will be after today. I need to hear the pitch from Marathon.
