Newmar slide in remote harnass

I received a letter from Newmar today indicating to me they have a record of me buying this slide in test harnass which is to be used by service techs. I bought this from the store when I was there last September. For some reason, they would like to buy it back from me as it's only suppose to be used by qualified service people.

Has anyone else bought one of these harnasses and did you get this letter? I bought the harnass so I could bypass the control board in case the slide would not go in and aslo it would put in the auto locks. There's a control panel attached to this harnass.

Wondering why they want it back all of a sudden as they were selling them in the store. They must have run into some trouble with it?
