Massey's Diesel, (602)233-1701, ask for Tom. This is the best Spartan service I have found.

Chickadee, I also had good luck with Rocky Mountain Cummins in Phoenix and they are a Coach Care Operation, Ken...

I've been to both places in Phoenix and Massey's and Tom are head and shoulders above Cummins. Cummins is not yet a fully certified coach Care facility but they are working to get certified. The nearest Newmar dealership I believe is World Wide RV in Mesa Bill Wimberly is the service writer. I've had plus and minus relationship getting things done.

Oh, if you need Newmar service don't stop in Mesa, go straight to Tucson, to La Mesa RV. You ask for Joseph. After 18 months, he is the only one who I will allow to touch the Essex for Newmar service(in the West).

Hi All: Thanks so much for feedback. We're now in Camp Verde and dropping down to stay in Sunflower RV Resort near Surprise for awhile. Pch'd 4502 Essex in Dec. (07) in Tucson from Freedom RV and during PDI period read about the ISM Fan belt vibration issue and upgrade of that system. Freedom scheduled us to Beaudry to have upgrade installed, BUT...I don't think anything more was done than to replace belt deflector tab on frame since on short trip to Havasu, up to Flagstaff and back down here to Verde, I noticed that vibration you guys described at 1,900 RPMs pulling uphill and particularly using High engine braking on down grades. When arrived at Verde, checked and saw that that frame tab installed in Tucson had realley takin a weardown presumably from that belt and I REALLY want someone who knows to look at it and make certain that the Spartan ISM Fan Assembly Upgrade kit IS INSTALLED and to have it installed if not. Thanks again for your Newmar/Spartan service site suggestions. Steve

Tom will have Red take care of you. When I was there for regular service(oil, filters, etc.) last Spring, an Essex with more serious problems than yours was being towed in from Kingman. They will also check on other recalls for you. Red also found the cause of my driver's seat not working, and fixed it.

Massey`s is on 59th Ave. south of I-10 a mile or so -- Very large paved lot, so no problem in or out -- Tom WILL take care of your problems -- Bill Willard
