What is the secret to getting the link to work - all I get is an "unavailable" line?

007 Thanks for all the info. Finally got into it tonight. As soon as I can figure out how to send you the info relevant to our coach i will. So far it looks like TSB 337, 343, 344. Again THANKS for digging into this.

The question I asked the Norcold dealer was "Do you have the TSB from Newmar or Norcold? What exactly is involved with this recall?

My response from the dealer that has ordered the parts for ours is
"There are some ele parts on rear of fridge that
need replacing. Norcold is sending parts as per
serial number of fridge."

Right now I do not have a bundle of confidence in this. Unfortunately we do not have a Newmar dealer here anymore. Any help from this forum is greatly appreciated.

Murray, you would have the 2nd recall done to your fridge would think you have the solid insulation canister that they will cut to install switch.
You could make mention that you want that area checked for yellow residue for possible leak. There is no mention on 2nd recall for a inspection as the first recall required.
If they were to find yellow residue you need new cooling coils no sense installing the switch.
I have the 2nd recall TSB posted some where in the threads.
If you look at 2nd recall link no inspection and no replacement of insulation canister if you have a 2000-2004 coach.
They have eliminated everything on first recall instructions.
The Norcold dealer would get instruction's with the kit they receive.

Thanks for the info you sent earlier. Followed your instructions - the link worked - too bad the info stops at 1999 model year. Our's is an odd 1998/1999 model - 1998 chassis - 1999 layout. Still got some great info and am very grateful for all your hard work here. Thanks again.

Jim I had a 98 KS I have found during that era that models didn't change that much from year to year.
A 99 may not be that much different from a 98.
Glad everyone's finally getting the info, link in QT's has always worked just don't understand if I post in other thread it fails???

Not to change the subject have you had a recall done on your fridge?

007, had the Dometic recall done on our fridge in 08. It was done at PPL, Houston - quickly done, if somewhat sloppy. Upgraded the Kwikee steps at the same time. Has there been more than one Dometic recall for something other than the flame shield added in the burner area? Fridge still works great with no ammonia odur or stain.

Newmar TSB for Dometic recall 1997 thru 2003

Jim I post this down in RV Systems & Appliances its a Newmar TSB for Dometic Recall.
I know the one your talking about because I had it done on a 98 KS & 99 MA it was a heat shield or a shield to protect from flame out while traveling.
This one is for the double door and possible cracked burner tubing.
This is similar to the 2nd Norcold recall fix but they say you can use fridge on electric but do inspections weekly looking for the yellow coloring.
Give them a plus for that, more than what Norcold offered.
I still say chemical forced out of a crack and igniting a fire, a switch to shut down fridge is to late once fire has started.
When I post this in other thread thought I would get some comments but nobody has, just some views.
The Norcold threads, 6 of them, the views have tripled since posting at least I caught some members attention. Also had many postings.
If you have to get new cooling coils, I would not get a Norcold cooling unit, RV Warehouse makes a reinforced burner tube by double piping the weak area where electric elements are held.
