Kudo's to Newmar for standing behind their product. My O6 is out of warranty and had some paint defects and wear appear on the slide corners and joints. Newmar requested pictures and told me that they would consider the claim under goodwill. Although they did not pay the entire bill, I was pleased that they stepped up and agreed to pay a substantial amount toward the bill. I should add that several of their OEM vendors have done the same out of warranty. Can't ask for anything more than this...otherthan a little more QC at the factory.

I have been away from the forum for a while since I bought my BMW GS motorbike.....hope I did not miss much.

Congrats on the new GS....sounds like you missed "everything" with respect to being on your first ride on the new bike and that's a good thing....Wouldn't want ya to bump into anything.

Headed to WVA , Stonewall Lake Park for 3 days of GS riding in WVA and VA. For now I am pulling a new 12' angle-iron trailer (landscaper type), but need to figure out how to take my GS with the RV and at times, just with my suburban when we leave the RV at our summer place in Michigan. Ohio will not allow me to pull doubles (car and trailer) behind the RV.

Hi Jerry! I think it is great that Newmar stepped up to the plate after your warranty was up but; if you want to squeal to them a little, it was a on going problem. I had the same problem on my 06 DSDP. Newmar paid to have all of our corners and joints repainted. I was told at the time that Newmars vendor did not properly prep the metal that is on the slide edges. I don't know if that is true, but if you look at later models they put a painted corner piece on all the slides now. That way they don't have to worry about the chipping anymore. paul
