Newmar will recall 2016-2018 coaches for Automatic Xfer Switch wiring issue

According to an article in rvtravel.com, Newmar is going to recall almost every line of coaches from 2016 through 2018 for a wiring issue in the automatic transfer switch that could cause a heat buildup. This could potentially be an increased risk for a fire.

Recall notices should go out in mid-February.

Check out the article Newmar Recalling Nearly 3,000 Motorhomes at rvtravel.com.

So why does this not effect the 2015 that you and I own?

So,...how hard can it be to check the connections on the transfer switch? I'll check mine tomorrow.

Shouldn’t this be annual maintenance anyway since connections can loose with all the vibrations while in motion?

Check to make sure front side marker lights are connected to the harness and that low beams illuminate when high beams are activated.

And how fast will your dealer get you in if you need this checked? Mine would probably be 3 months!

I agree. I have been doing this annually since I found mine loose.

Good Question. I've already had a brake peddle recall, one on the foot throttle peddle, a battery cable routing, and a Cummins engine recall on my 2015 DS so one more surely would be in line considering the quality control we are contending with these last few years.

That sounds like the Kiddie recall which they are probably making their customers aware of.

Yep. My Thor extinguisher was recalled (although no notice from Thor that I saw), along with two in my house.
