This forum is expensive. After reading all the good experiences with Koni shocks and MCU's, finally got mine today. And they are now installed. Some folks on this forum mentioned how hard the rear shocks were too install. Well after crawling under, I realized that my arms are not long enough to reach the top bolt from both sides. I then realized the secret, remove the 2 bolts from the shock mount and them remove the shock bolt on the bench. Piece of cake, well almost, 3 1/2 hours of crawling on a (heated) cement floor and they are in. Oh it was -35 here 2 days ago. Thanks to this forum and all the good advice available, I am 1013.00 lighter in the wallet and so close to nirvana, as others have said. I will find out Thursday or Friday when we leave the frozen north for the gentle breezes of the gulf (I hope).

Hi bigstonebay,
Congrats on your new installs. I have enjoyed what you just installed. Good luck on your trip.
If at all possible, start the coach and let it air up with the MCUs now installed. This will ensure you installed the MCUs correctly and the ends of the air lines will stay firmly planted in the MCU. I suggest this because when I installed my MCUs one of the right rear air lines came out of the MCU . It was my fault. I did not have the line installed all the way into the MCU.

Already done that. No leaks. BTW WD40 works great at removing paint, undercoating etc from the air lines BEFORE you put the MCU's on.

You just have to realize that if you keep this coach for a while the add on's your placing will be nill a few years from now because you are enjoying your ride improved coach.
Enjoy your trip and stay out of the snow on the way down, salt can sure mess up bottom of coach, stop and get it washed off its just a little more money.

You betcha. I do not want to spend the money upgrading so someone else can enjoy it. That's why I rely on this forum for good advice. That's why: Koni's, MCU's' , Fisher Paykel DW, 2 new Vizio LED TV's, Tires soon, JVC Arsenal radio, ETC. I want to enjoy what I put in, and put in the best. Thanks to the people here that is possible.

Well after 1200 miles i have to say Nirvana, Not quite, but a ride improved by 100%, YES. I can not believe the difference in driving. The combination of Koni's and MCU has made a dramatic change in how this coach handles. No sway when trucks pass on 2 lane. Much quieter on bridge joints. Get into a trucks slipstream????? No problem. This MH drives totally different. At the end of the day is no where near as tiring. Thank you Rob Henderson of Hendersons Line Up and Dick of Precision Frame. They have both been more that helpful. Oh and i am not associated in any way with either. But they provide top notch advice.

What are MCU's?. Have installed the Koni's last month on our 2004 DSDP model 4011 and the ride and handling is very mutch improved. Up graded the tire size 275/80's about a year ago and that really helped also.

SuperSteer Motion Control Units
These are so simple yet make such a huge difference. I was skeptical of them, but after driving over 1000 miles with them...... I just wish I put them on sooner.

Hi 84 911 Carrera,
I also have the MCUs installed on my coach. They work better than advertised and I would make the same purchase again.
Now for a word of warning. This project will take two trips under the coach. The first trip will be to measure the outside diameter (OD) of the air line going into the air bag. One must measure the front and rear lines. On my coach they are two different sizes. Once you know the OD of the lines, contact Henderson to purchase the necessary parts.
The second trip under the coach is to install the MCUs.

Thanks KD
Went to Hendersons web page and they showed the MCU's for coaches under 30,000 GVW. Our GVW is 33,300, so will call Hendersons in the morning regarding the GVW.
Thanks for you help

Our coach is 32000lbs. We put over 30000lb on ours and it handles great. I purchased the koni's at shox.com and the mcu's at Precision Frame's online store. I would have got everything from Precision but they could not get the Koni's till the end of Feb. Seems to be a bit of a shortage right now. Both company's were great to deal with. Good luck with your unit, you will not regret putting them on.
