Guys -

Sorry to be so imprecise but we recently developed a noise in our 08 MADP that I hope someone else had. . . and fixed.

It's a "clunk" - not a rattle, not a bang, not a squeak, but a definite "clunk" that's audible when going over small bumps. However it's not totally consistent, i.e. sometimes on bumpy raods we hear it and sometimes not.

It seems to be coming from inside the dash on the passenger side sort of below the glove box, but not at the bottom - it seems higher, near the bottom of the windshield. Definitely sounds like it's inside, not outside the coach. We took out the glove box and reached around inside for anything loose but found nada. We also opened the generator front and looked up inside for loose screws, wire harnesses that might be banging on something, etc. but again - nothing.

Wish I could be more specific, believe me. . . but am hoping someone out there will say, "Aha! Had the same thing on my coach -it's the XYZ!" Any ideas?

We had a "clunk" in our dash, but it was related to dashboard lights flashing. That is, every time we hit a bump, the "clunk" would sound, then the lights on the dash would flash (along with the rear camera and trip tek). After a couple of tries by others, an excellent mobile RV tech in West Yellowstone found the problem (loose wire and bouncing harness) up under the dash...access behind the driver's area, but reaching towards the middle of the dash.

We also had sounds that, we knew, were coming from the dash, well took ride with Newmar Tech and he showed us that it was coming from the overhead visors. Lower both visors 1in and see if it stops. We still laugh every now and then when we raise the visors all the way up and the "dash rattle" starts again.

Thanks. We'll definitely try that when we break camp later this week. Sure hope that's the answer!

I had a rattle in my Damon, however it could have as easily been a clunk.. but it was a rattle.. I finally fixed it, but some days I wonder what the folks at the drawing board are thinking, Drinking.... or smoking.
