I guess I jinxed myself in another thread.
I just brought my Ventana to the house to get ready for a trip. I started the Norcold refrigerator on LP to cool it down. The freezer is down into the 60s after about an hour, but the refrigerator is still in the 80s.
Any ideas on troubleshooting?

Hi Brad,
Make sure your coach is level. How long has it been on? They will take some time to get going, we always started ours the day before our departure.

The freezer is down to 47. The refrigerator is at 81.
I had it in this same spot 12 days ago, and it cooled both after a day with no problem. It's fairly level in front of my house.
Just to be sure, I just leveled the coach. This is not good.

OK, the refrigerator is down to 69 degrees. The freezer is at 27 degrees.
Just a newbie panicking, that's all.

That's good news! They also recommend you pre-cool all of your products to be stocked in the frig. Give yourself plenty off time by starting the frig early.

Hi! I have always been under the impression that if you can, you should allow 24 hours for the reefer to come to temp. Paul

Paul has it correct and as others have said, allow 24 hours before loading fridge and load with cool stuff direct from shopping at store.

I guess I just expected the refrigerator to cool close to the same pace as the freezer. I put some ice and freezer packs in the refrigerator. It's now down to 36 degrees.
All is well and we're heading out tomorrow morning.
Sorry for complaining about nothing.

No need to feel sorry its just that somethings do not work as fast as your house refrige and others have felt they had the same problem its good to rehash for new members.

Well, it's down to 32.6 degrees in the refrigerator on setting 8 (out of 9, but I may modify it to go to 11 )

I am green with envy
The only way my No-Cold 1200 will get to 32 in the fridge, would be with doors open sitting outside in the winter.
Right now my unit is sitting in the shop with a fan on top of the removed vent cover. The temp inside the shop was 70 degrees this morning. 37 degrees is the best it will do. As the day heats up that will climb to around 40 -41

Thanks 007, I have searched this forum and "that other RV forum " and tried all the suggestions.
This morning I tried this
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Make sure that the area around the exhaust chimney where the wires for the electric heater enter and exit are not excessively wide or open and let heat out. I found that by "sealing" them with foil heat tape, I was able to significantly improve the cooling of my Norcold when running on propane, and it slightly improved the cooling on electric. It seemed to me the the lower opening of the chimney was letting out a good portion of the heat generated by the propane flame before it made it way up the chimney. I now routinely get 36 to 38 degrees in refrigerator.
This tip appears to have reduce the fin temps and the difference between AC & LP.

Thanks for that tip Jay, my chimmey has always been sealed as you discribed and have not ever had a problem with cooling. I and many others may have over looked this sealing of chimney with the foil heat tape. I will make sure it is sealed after I replace my defective electric rod that I have to replace.
The top of chimney should be open for heat to pass thru and the chimney should be cleared of rust as a routine maintenace job, cover the burner port with a paper towel before rapping pipe at base of chimney or the rust particals may get caught in burner ports.
