Congrats on a great coach. The only thing left to do is start asking all those questions, and getting hints, tips etc.

I did some web searches on the 2008 DS 4020. They are really a very nice alternative to a new DS. Nice layout and great features and still a lot of power. Great choice. They must be very popular because there aren't many for sale. A lot of 2006's and 7's, but not many 2008's.

Lack of available used units has to say a lot for Newmar. I know they don't build as many as other manufacturers. I think we'll be happy for our first motorhome. I'll let you know next Sunday after a weekend of "learning".

We're on our second DSDP and looking at a new one now. Just going back and forth over pricing with the dealer now and calming my DW's objections!
Nothing wrong with our first DSDP, just wanted more slides, longer and more engine, hence the present 2002 DSDP!
And the new on is longer, more slides and HP.
You really can't go wrong with a Newmar.
When we belonged to a private club there were only 12 MH's there, one Prevost and 6 Newmars, my parents had a Foretravel so when we went looking we were looking past the glitz and glitter at the quality of construction. Found it with Newmar for a fairly reasonably compared to some others out there.
GOOD CHOICE, now, post more pictures and let us know your thoughts!!

[QUOTE=Mr_D;1550188]We're on our second DSDP and looking at a new one now. QUOTE]

Mr. D --

When we were at Nappanee in mid-February taking factory delivery of our '13 DS 4018, our sole co-tenants at Camp Newmar were a couple who were there to pick up their '12 DS after some cabinet modifications done by the factory over the winter months. We shared wine and snacks with them one long and happy but very frosty evening when it hit and stayed at 10 degrees all night. Turns out they were on their thirteenth (13th) consecutive Dutchie in 20 years of motor homing and twelve years of full timing. Can you believe it??!!

We also learned that they ONLY ever buy Dutch Stars!!!!

Holy Cow, if that doesn't tell you a little something about the brand and model you are wisely going after again!

Don't forget to keep us posted about your choices and be sure to post plenty of pictures!

Cheers --

Deek

Today we spent loading our "stuff" into multiple totes and boxes. We had a lot of "stuff" in our 5th wheeler. Then we tried loading into the back of her Escape.

Well, we revisited our "stuff" to determine what we really need. Once we pick up the rig Thursday we're off to a local cg for the weekend. Midway RV will be close enough to aid us if needed.

The Escape is packed with enough room for us, Cooper, cameras (you want pics right?) and the computers.

Big day tomorrow.
