Now is the time for Newmar to look at the big picture and go after the servicing of other brands at the factory. I know this was talked about awhile ago, but the only thing I hear is it was by word of mouth.
There will be a void for Monaco owners that are now looking for a factory service center and this could help Newmar from falling victim to the decline in new sales.
They need to have many news releases stating that they will service all brands of RV's including but not limited to Monaco, Travel Supreme, Alfa, National etc. or start showing up at RV shows with a booth informing the public that they service all tpyes of RV's at the Newmar factory.
Remember most of the MFG. use the same venders for their A/C-Heating units-furniture-plumbing-etc.
I think you get the picture, so parts will not be a big problem.

I think you are right, but that does not sound like Newmar's style.

I think read & learn has the beginning of a good idea. Within the last couple of days there was an article about the retail industry and how with the closing of many weaker retailers, the survivors are capitalizing and picking up these abandoned customers. Best Buy without Circuit City. Bed Bath & Beyond without Linen & Things, etc. Not only are the survivors studying inventory opportunities, they are focusing on advertising to these opportunity customers to win them over for the long haul. I'm not sure Newmar should try to service any coach but may want to select those that have a similar service need and more importantly will come over to Newmar on their next purchase.

I like the thought and concern, however Newmar is working with limited staff like most Mfg's.
If you bought a Newmar in the past couple of years and had to wait 4-6 months for service because of all those other brands with appointments in front of them, how would you and most others feel?

You are a few months late. Newmar began working on any make/model in November. They are not the greatest at getting the word out however.
As a summary:
They work on any RV it does not need to be Newmar.
They will do non warranty work all year round.
They will now sell parts direct to owners.

This is why I made my post, to get the word out.
Newmar was going to open a large service building across the street from the check in office, which they didn't do. As for workers they layed off a whole lot of workers some could be rehired.
Again Newmar has to take the bull by the horns and let the RV industry know they will service any and all brands.
