Looks like a great product good question. I have noticed a glare at times. I wonder if it would affect the picture in non glare situations?
If any one would know it would be 007 over 28,000 posts, WOW

True outdoor TVs have high brightness and anti-glare coatings plus are water resistant. And are expensive (+$5K).

Let us know how the retrofix works for you.

Just some additional information. Reading website you want to order the Day-Vue film not the anti-glare. Will post once I have it installed.

I bought a shield from Anti Glare Screens. It certainly helped. I also tilted the screen down a smidge.

I just ordered a Triple A screen film per the suggestion of a NuSheild rep for my outside tv.

Hopefully I'll get it next week and get it installed before I head out for the 4th.

I'll keep you posted....

Sadly, it's not going to help find something worth watching

Here's a video with results on an outdoor RV TV, using a different film, but they're all similar. They help with glare, but as mentioned above one of the big issues is whether your TV has the ability to get bright enough to overcome the light on the screen

Also, regarding dust, if you run a hot shower in your bathroom several minutes before the installation, then wait a bit and do the installation in the bathroom, you'll find that the humidity will take much of the dust out of the air.

If you could possibly take before and after pics, that would be interesting to see since I'm planning to do the same on my Sony external TV.

Good point......I can see my outside tv fairly well in daylight - - it is the glare that blocks the screen. And I can adjust the picture.......but time will tell.

Sorry to take so long to get back to those who are following but here is an update of my NuShield purchase and install.

As I said earlier, I ordered a NuShield from the main company. I had to take measurements as my TV model was not listed. The shield came within a couple days of ordering.

The shield itself is well made and sturdy.

Instructions are well laid out and it is an easy to follow.

Installing:

Use 2 people.

If possible, install indoors. A slight breeze makes for small challenges as you attach the shield to the surface and gives the possibility of flying "dust". But it can and was installed outside - - it would just be the best of both worlds.

We ended up with a few "bubbles" on the screen - ugh!!! Worked most of them out but needed to go as we had other things to do. Made it back a couple days later and wha-la, the small bubbles were gone!! Not sure how - but the tv sits inside the small compartment on the side wall of the motor home and temperatures were hot. I am guessing here but either way - the bubbles are gone.

Now - - how does it work??????

We just got home from a week at a camp site that faced south, meaning the patio/door side was facing west and and afternoon sun.

I am happy to say - it works fairly well.

The tv sits about 6' off the ground. I did turn up the brightness.

We were able to watch tv with little glare. There is some glare but not enough to spoil the viewing.

The farther back you sit, the clearer/sharper the picture will be - sitting up close has the small amount of glare.

I was surprised to see a picture with the setting sun directly on the tv. I needed to stand and be the same level as the tv but I could see the picture. But not ideal.

So there you have it. Hope it helps.......

Take care,

g
