If checking for slow leaks be sure to check the manifold area. Both of my 2 Oasis have had leaks there. I kept folded paper towels at the bottom to serve as diapers.

Hi JC2 - The Oasis has two electric elements so you can actually do something on electric. The Oasis (at least ours) has never smoked or smelled. The hot water temperature is much more stable. It makes nice hot water even when the incoming temperature of the water is cold (the AH was anemic). It seems to lack the over-the-top complexity of the AH. And it did not require over a thousand dollars worth of warranty work when new like the AH did in our last coach.

My AquaHot has two electric elements and has never been "anemic"
The concentrated Camco boiler fluid sells for $14.84 a gallon, the premix Century fluid sells for over $50 a gallon at the same dealer.
AquaHot says the fluid should be between 35 and 50%, but no more concentrared than 50%. So you get more than two gallons for $14.85 with the Camco, which is over $100 for the Century.

Hi Mr.D - With that big Magna with the ISX they gave you the 600 or 675. Most of us have either the 400 or 450. The big one is the only AH worth having.

I also used the Camco boiler fluid in my 2012 Ventana. Same color as what came with it originally.

We are picking up our 2018 DSDP in June and want to have some extra coolant available if needed. I see Amazon also sells a pump. Do you need the pump or funnel to fill the reservoir

If your fluid level is dropping and there are no apparent leaks check in the area of the boiler cap. The metal where the cap attaches is very thin and weak. I had mine crack. I removed the cap because I saw a build up there. After I cleaned up the residue and replaced the cap the crack must have opened up causing a large leak. If you have a small leak in this area the fluid will evaporate due to the heat of the tank. You'll never see any puddling

adding coolant
i now have the correct coolant and confirmed it with Newmar. Can i just add to the coolant bottle in the battery bay and fill to the maximum line on the bottle? I should have asked Newmar this and I didnt.

Hi - The correct way to be sure the level is correct is to bring the system (including all zones) to full temperature. Then fill the tank to the full mark. Another way to do it (but not as effective) is to let the system coll completely (turn it off totally) and let it cool for at least 12 hours and make sure that the level is at the cold level. The problem with this method is that if the system is already low you can introduce air into the system.
