Oasis Exhaust

My exhaust comes out very close to bay door where TV is. Has anyone rerouted the exhaust?

I am sure it can be rerouted. On the 15s the exhaust exits right next to the generator exhaust. I have always though it was strange to have exit in the patio area

drdonny ... I remember that Dutch Star Don did this. I was actually thinking about it but never got around to doing it. Here is where he talks about it.

Rerouted Oasis exhaust to come out next to generator exhaust under drivers window with out any problems. Cost 310.00. Before it came out under coach where entertainment center was.

Mine comes out just in front of the electrical door, on driver side.Never noticed other coaches on patio side, engineers never owned a coach I guess.

drdonny ... I will be interested in seeing how you did this at Hoots Rally. Am still thinking for doing something to mine.

I think they did this without much thought to keep it from coming out underneath the full wall slide.

I really like that idea.
Will look at this in the morning.

I believe there is a some type of code regulating where the exhaust can exit. It has to exit at a point that is NOT under a slide. It makes sense and you can't blame them for doing it the way they're required.

The owner can do it the way they want. I moved mine and have had no ill effects. You can also shorten up the down pipe under the coach. Oasis says there is not enough heat to cause an issue. My muffler is only about 3/4" away from the underside.

I did the same thing after Don did it. Just pull two clamps holding the pipe, unclamp pipe and chop off one end, rotate the "muffler?" 180 and re-install coming out next to the electric cord area.

On a side note.. pay attention to any 90° bend in the tubing where the exhaust exits the oasis (or hydro/AquaHot) units. Whether it's right at where it exits the combustion chamber or any tubing that may be run up and over the rear axle, anywhere there is a uphill type bend make sure to drill a small 1/8" hole at the bottom of it to help remove moisture from the bend. In long runs of tubing carbon deposits and water (condensate) build-up and eventually impede airflow through the exhaust causing a great deal of back-pressure which causes problems with build-up in the combustion chamber. These units rely on the small 12v motor to create the exhaust airflow, so it's not like there is a lot of compression (as compared to an engine) to help blow out deposits and condensate.

Here is a previous discussion I started after rebuilding one particular AquaHot unit:
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f54/aquah...re-195078.html

As it turned out, the exhaust on this Fleetwood Providence 42P that I was working on was run up and over the rear axle exhausting out the back of the coach. Fleetwood did not drill any holes in the bends going up and over the axle, condensate and soot built up and helped contribute to this burner failure.

That sounds like a great idea, but how did they deal with the Front Suspension? Any chance you could post some pics?

If you look at any of the factory exhaust setups, you'll note there is a continuous downslope of the entire exhaust system. I, too, am wondering how they achieved placement of the exhaust up front by the gen. Exhaust without an uphill run or low point somewhere.
