Oasis Exhaust Pipe

Can anyone tell me why Newmar runs the exhaust pipe for the Oasis all the way from the drivers side to the passenger side under the coach?

Same issue on our 2014 Ventana 4037. Came out right below bedroom window so we got a little dose of diesel exhaust each startup. Really aggravating middle of the night. I assume it was to avoid gassing your neighbors in the campground ?
We actually lost a portion of the pipe after pounding over I 70 a few years ago, so I simply rerouted it to come out under the electrical bay on the drivers side. No more fumes in our coach and they dissipate nicely before bothering any neighbors we might have.

I don't know about each model, but as an example I've noticed on the Ventana has the Oasis exhaust on the door side in front of the drive axle whereas on the same model Dutch Star it's on the driver side. I thought RVIA code doesn't like that exhaust exiting under a slide, but at least on the Dutch Star it sure seems to do so.

Brian is this the case on yours?

Yes ours is under our FWS. Nice though being on drivers side as it doesn't interfere with spending time outside while setup at camp.

I did a post awhile back on moving the Oasis tailpipe. Originally, ours came out the passenger side between the two slides, right onto the patio. We also have to drive up a steep grade to get ur coach in the backyard. The Oasis pipe was dragging a little as we backed in. I called Oasis (ITR) and asked if I could fit the exhaust up tighter against the undercarriage. They said there would be no issue.

I removed the exhaust pipe and shortened the tube that came out the bottom of the Oasis unit. It's just black gas pipe. I reinstalled the muffler and turned the piping so that it was now coming out the driver's side. I cut it to length and reattached the chrome tip. My exhaust now sits up tight against the bottom of the coach and has a cleaner look.

So so what I can surmise is they piped it so it does not come out under a slide which makes sense to me. Since the drivers side is a FWS I will take a look to see if it makes sense rerouting it either to the front or rear of the slide on the passenger side without too much work.

On our coach (a 2005 Alpine) the Aqua Hot exhaust edited under the bedroom slide, when it fired up we would smell it. I have them move the exhaust to the rear, now it looks like the coach is being driven by a 1 3/4" exhaust!!!!!

As noted above ours is on drivers side just in front of rear tires but & exhaust pipe is pointed to the rear of the coach so it does not interfere when enjoying time outside with it running.

Stupidity?

Our 2015 Ventana 4037 is the same way. I wish it exited next to the generator exhaust. I may re-route it some day.

Just a note.....it's pretty easy to move the exhaust to another location. The connections use clamps, the exhaust will swivel on the pipe and the bends are already there. You really only need to cut off the excess pipe.

OASIS exhaust

My 2016 DS oasis pipe was extended all the way up front and came out right next to the gen exhaust. I un bolted it and pivoted the pipe to about a 45 angle to exit in front of the rear wheels. I used all of the same parts and had to buy nothing.
The way it was factory installed was very low to the ground and looked really bad.
About 12 feet of pipe was removed and it did not change the sound at all. (DRIVERS SIDE)
