Oasis heating?

On my previous MH's(Tiffin) one heat setting controlled the basement heating. On the Oasis heating does one setting heat the basement or does it matter which zone you have the Oasis set on? Will be leaving the MH for a few days in cold weather. Thanks, Bill

The heat is automatic as long as the oasis system is set to heat on any zone.

The bays have there own heater controlled by a heat set thermistor.
Go to QT's # 3 scroll down to DS Dons MOD Section which has links explaining the Oasis system.
All the links below in my signature have info for your Newmar.

Was my answer incorrect 007? I cannot find the link you refer to but it sounds like you contradict what I said about the system having to be on. I do not believe it has its own system but is fed by the main heat system which must be on. Am I incorrect?

I specifically asked an Oasis tech this question.

The basement system will turn on at 40 degrees as long as the Oasis burner and/or AC switches are on. It does not matter if the wall mount Dometic thermostat is on or what it is set to.

In my coach, the basement has a 45 degree thermostat that will turn on the oasis heat if the main t stat is set to furnace. It will not heat if the main t stat is set to heat pump, cooling or off.

It's easy to test. The thermister is usually close to the water pump in the wet bay. Just hold a piece of ice against it and the basement heater will kick on after a short period. That way you can check if you need the thermostat on or not.

Well that's new to me I have always been under the impression stat had to be on furnace. I hope you are correct as I have gotten out of bed before to change stat to furnace just because I thought I had to.

I asked customer support this morning and got the answer I stated. Might have been different for years past or different coaches. Makes prefect sense to me that the oasis is not going to run if your tstat is set to heat pump and not furnace.

Well I just tested mine again, and the basement heater comes on whether you have the main thermostat ON or OFF.

But the system has to be in heat mode either electric or diesel? If not how would you turn it off in storage?

I guess the terminology may be confusing. The Oasis unit has to be ON. That is the button on the tank in the basement. You have to have a heat source ON. This is either the AC or the diesel burner or both. But you do not have to have the thermostat on. That controls what happens inside the coach. The basement heater is on a separate circuit controlled by the thermister in the basement.

judge is right heater needs to be on for heat.
Hot water is another item for controlling your hot water temps.
