Oasis water pumps

My pump for domestic hot water failed. I've been reading problems with these pumps from other folks. Took the wires from the failed pump and transferred over to one of the heat zone pumps so we would have hot water without activating summer loop switch.
Bottom line: need to replace pump at around $300. Seems excessive to me.
Has anyone considered looking in to or may have used another manufacturers pump with same specs?

I would be interested in finding a replacement. With all the posts recently about failed pumps, I was getting ready to buy one as a spare.

They are specials built for the Oasis units and the manufacturer will not supply directly to you. I have just had to replace my Loop 1 pump so I feel you pain.

Another replacement about 3 weeks ago while in the middle of a vacation. Woke up one morning finding out we had no hot water. Pump was $257 plus $120 mobile mechanic's labor after 8 days of using the Pump By-Pass Switch on the control board for the Oasis. Either Oasis or Newmar should be standing behind these problems longer than one year. Kind of like the problems I've been reading about the Fantastic Fan lids cracking in just over 1 year. No wonder most warranties are only one year.

Are these pumps failing on the 2016 and 2017s?

Ours failed after 9 months. Newmar is sending me a new one since we were having trouble getting an appointment on the road. There is a switch in the bay with the Oasis heater that turns on the heat loop. This gives us hot water till we change the pump. It does put some heat into the coach.

Mine went kaput on the first day on the road. Leaked boiler fluid into its windings. Happy with Newmar' customer service in arranging a very rapid replacement.

Toured the Oasis factory in June and asked about the pump issue. They indicated they source the pumps from Gorman Rupp in the US. They indicated Gorman use to source these "medical grade" pumps from Germany. They then decided to build them themselves. Gorman had some initial issues but now appear ok. Not sure of the timing but did not seem that long ago the switch was made. Likely in the last few years or less.

Can you share where you bought it from and how much you paid for it? I may buy a spare also.

I bought it from ITR (Oasis). Just call them directly. I'm not sure on the price....I didn't ask because I know they are under $300.00, probably some less depending on tax and shipping.

just to clarify, this/these pump(s) are to circulate antifreeze on the space heating loop, correct ?

my aqua hot has two pumps on the space heating side....nothing on the domestic hot water side....

ALSO, a question for the newer dutch star owners....

is the stock unit the CH50M or the CH50V ? and does it include the engine pre heat option ?

Yes the pumps circulate coolant. There are two pumps on the heating system and a summer loop pump for the hot water.

My coach has the CH50M. The coach can use engine heat when traveling for heat and hot water but the Oasis does not have the option to preheat the engine.
