Observation- A lack of used Ventana's 33XX and 34XX

I've been looking, primary on RVT, RVTrader and Craig's List and find that short Newmar Ventana's under 36 length are in short supply. Seems dealers have new stock, 2018's and (on order) 2019 but if you look for slightly older vehicles, they are very scarce. Not many sale by owners either. I'm curious, is this a result of a lack of RV's built in the shorter lengths or are they so popular that once acquired, owners don't let go??

To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen a Ventana under 37' I know they exist, but must be rare.

Newmar made quite a few of the shorter Ventana's and I have one. Bought a new 2013 3434 and have absolutely no plans on getting rid of it. It's perfect for 2 people but can accommodate 4 if necessary and with the release of the New Aire, shorter units are in demand.

Was at Independence RV for service last month and when the salesman saw it, he asked if he could show it to another couple who were searching. They actually show a 2013 3434 in stock.

Keep searching and you'll find one.

I don't think it was as popular as the 40' and 43's, so may be hard to find.

Transwest RV in Frederick, Colorado, has a 2015 on their lot now. They had another one a few months ago...a 2014 that we traded in.

The shorter coaches are quite popular and owners usually hang onto them. We liked ours, but wanted to upgrade to a newer coach with a couple of features not available in the shorter ones.

We bought our 3330 used in 2011 and plan on it lasting us forever. We've averaged using it over 75 nights a year and it fits in the garage when home. Hopefully it lasts as long as we do. Comfortable when living in it for months at a time as well as weekend activities. Ours was the first Newmar RV we'd ever seen, it had everything we wanted in an RV and we are so glad we picked it up when we did.

When we were shopping for a "smaller" Newmar DP, we found that the shorter ones were going for the same or more than their longer brothers. And for every "short" one I found listed, I found five or six 39 - 43 footers. My theory is that it's a combination of things. They made fewer of them, and those of us who want the shorter coaches, hold on to them.

And lastly, they cost a lot of money -- and "most" people figure that if you're going to spend that much, you might as well get the longer one for just a little more.

But "we" aren't like that. For many reasons, we prefer the shorter ones.

Keep looking. You'll eventually find one. But it probably won't be close to home -- and it'll probably cost the same or more than longer ones.

If one is not full timing a 40-45 ft MH is more than most folks need or want. Something in the low 30 ft range is a nice couples coach that fits in the driveway better. By the time folks spring for Newmar money most already have a good idea of what they want and order it. Translate that to they keep it for a long time. That leaves used availability to mostly folks who fell into the buy a high end unit to learn on or can no longer drive for various reasons camps. Neither is very big compared to total sales.

We looked for a few years before we found the perfect coach.
We bought a 2014 Ventana 3436 in June (had 14k miles). Perfect size.
We downsized from a 2004 38' Gulfstream. So much easier to navigate in tighter areas. We will be keeping this rig for a long time. Heading to AZ in one week. Will find out how it works for the winter.
Bought from Guaranty RV in Oregon. (Great dealer to work with)
Just take your time and keep looking.

We searched 18 months for a 34 to 36 footer. Found a 34 close to home, but were out bid. Finally, we found a 36 in Florida and are loving it. For two people, it's the perfect size and we have no plans for a larger unit. Best wishes on finding what you're looking for!

I passed on a Dutch star 3736 with huge season ending discount and Newmar factory incentives to the dealer for more price reduction in October of 2015. Under 40 Dutch star are REALLY hard to find. I still sort of regret that as it was the correct floor plan and color scheme. Definitely the right size however.

Encourage you to keep looking but also to consider buying new. I think “short” DP MotorHomes are like convertibles: very few of us want them, so very few are built, but those of us who want them are willing to pay up and we hold on to them for a very long time.

Good luck in your search!
