Has anyone with an Essex checked there off door front slide when it is open and see if the bottom of the column stops against the bottom molding against the wall?
I had trouble leveling my coach this weekend and couldn't get the top of slide to completely seal at the top. Looked down and the slide column stops against the wall molding on both ends. I think the molding should be cut shorter to allow the slide column to seal against the wall. I can't believe I've never noticed this before.

Next door neighbor had a fire pit going and almost gagged us.

Thanks

I have not had that problem with the slide, but water tends to accumulate on that particular slide and wets the inside when the slide is brought in. I have tried sealing the roof-to-topper area (which helps), but I find it interesting that no other slide shows this problem.

My slide gets squeegeed off when it comes in from the black weather stripping around inside edge.

The problem I have is the slide isn't going all the way out due to the side column stopping against the bottom wall trim.

Is your trim cut so the slide fits flush when it's open?

We run an 08, 4502 EX and although it might be different our slide DOES seal all around when out, including at the foot of those "columns". And....yes, where there IS kick molding at the base of a wall and floor corner, and where that molding approaches the verticle column when slide is extended, that molding does NOT extend behind those columns, rather the molding IS trimmed such that the slide columns (and the foam seal gasket behind and around the perimeter of the slide) DO firmly abut against the wall when the slide is fully extended.

If your trim (kick molding) extends behind those columns, I'm pretty sure it needs trimming to permit slide gasket to fully seal.

Don't know if this'll help....but, FWIW Steve

Thank you so much.

I thought it should be. They must of trimmed it with the slide out. When the coach is perfectly level it closes at the top but a little lean,it gaps open at the top about 1\2 inch.

If I could figure out how to include picture I would.

PS I just joined the Newmar Club. Received my badges yesterday.

Now all I have to figure out why I have an bad air leak noise when I accelerate from the engine bay.

Not to change the subject here. Soricobob, I have the same rig and toad you do. I just purchased both (slightly preowned).

I was just wondering if you had any UNIQUE anything that you might be willing to share with me about the rig/H2 configuration. I'm a newbie also.

Sorry, to change the thread here but this is my first post and I didn't know how to email or IM on this forum :(
