A couple of us are leaving for the tulip festival in a few days in Holland, Michigan.
While in the neighborhood, I scheduled an appointment at Spartan to have some issues addressed including the 2" discrepency on side ride height. Also tried to get into factory service, but was lateralled off to Duncan RV repair due to the volume of Newmar scheduling.

Hope to have a new washer installed at the same time as the stacked Whirlpool has not been fixed after three attempts and various new parts being thrown at it. Whirlpool has given up and wants us to have a whole new unit. I really am not too excited over the effort it will take to remove refeer doors, front seat, front door removed, etc. to get the units exchanged.

Chuck, I can't understand why they don't bring the washer through your dinette window...

When I had my REFRIGERATOR replaced, they took out the large window over the dinette, covered everything and slid it right through the window.

I'd ask them about that...

Remember....your 4502 is the same floor plan as what I had in the Essex.

Are you sure that the Whirlpool washer will not fit through the front door? Mine did, although it was a tight fit, we did not have to remove any seats or the outside door. We did have to remove the front of the cabinet that contains the washer and dryer.

That sig picture is from one of our favorite places to go, Ouray, CO. That is a picture of site #99 in the Ouray KOA which is about 5 miles north of Ouray. We have been going out there since 1993 but will not get back there until late summer of '08.

If you look very closely in the lower left corner near the aspen tree, you can just make out the Flamingo which was used to claim the site as Florida Boomer territory!

Thanks for the suggestions on how to remove the washer. They will know way more than I do about it, but I have been told by Newmar that it will require the all electric refrigerator doors to be removed at the very least and front door. It would great if they could get the washer out/in without taking out the side window.

Chuck, I was saying that, alignment wise I thought it'd be a lot better to remove the window...It's not "that" big of a deal to reinstall and recaulk the window, but can you imagine the noise if they don't get that door aligned properly?

Neither option smells good, but one of them is necessary.

Sounds like a steady stream of iRV2'ers will be hitting Camp Newmar for the next few weeks....Paul and Chuck apparently in a week or so and then "Route 66" and myself in June.

Nice to see the north finally warming up!

Pleased to report that the trip to experience the tulip festival went great and was well worth seeing. Found out several facts while there : Reader's Digest rated it the best small town festival in America.

: one of the top five safest cities in America.

:Over six million tulip bulbs grown at locations all over the city of 35,000 which has a total visitor headcount of 500,000 during the May 2-12 celebration.

: along with all the other Dutch themes, villages, and flowers were a gaggle of Dutch jokes: " Do you know how copper wire was invented? --- by two Dutchmen fighting over a penny."

The trip was nearly delayed by a burst radiator hose... pulled into a casino campground south of Chicago and our friends in their rig behind us noticed coolant leaking out. A mobile tech summoned from Coach Net came out within a short time and had it repaired in a jiffy. We were fortunate to have just exited I-80 when the hose ruptured. I am having an OEM hose put on here at Spartan Chassis under warranty.

Chuck, I encountered the same "burst hose" when I had my Essex....You may recall I had posted pics of the coolant on my driveway.
The hose I am referring to is about 4 inches long and connects the radiator to the engine....right?
My hose had a split in it running vertically along the long length of the hose.

Bob, that is exactly the same hose. Only ours split horizonially right in the middle. It would have been worse, but the hose was made with some form of reinforcement which kept it from totally rupturing.

The mobile repair gentleman said his replacement cut off hose was much better in quality, but Spartan said they would replace it today. I am going to hold onto the extra piece of hose they remove to serve as a spare.

Hi Chuck,

Did you get your whirlpool washer replaced?
What had to be removed in order to change
out the unit on your ESSEX 4502.

It looks like the refer doors have to come
off, what kind of job is that?

I am having issues with my Whirlpool and
after 6 attempts to have it repaired by
Whirlpool it is now time to replace it.

Bruce, you might do better with your Whirpool question by asking it in a new topic..... just a thought.
Someone that may not like tulips may in fact have your answer......LOL!!
