We are in the pre purchase phase of rving ...Hours of research online etc.. We like the quality of the older Newmars but would prefer 30 ft rather than the bigger sizes ...did Newmar ever make smaller class A gassers

Welcome to the forum. I don't know about 30 footers, but they did make down to a 34' Dutch Star in the 90's. The shortest, to my knowledge was New Aire, and that was an exensive 29/30 footer diesel, which, believe me, you don't want.
Perhaps another member will jump in with a shorter model.

Horatio54, welcome to iRV2.
I have a few older brochures, and 2002 was the last year for 30' Dutch Stars, and 2000 and 1999 had 29' models, all gassers.

Not that I'm aware of.
The NEWMAR web site has only the current year's models.
I'm quite sure that Newmar does not keep brochures, etc on older models.
If you find a rig that catches your eye, ask about it here and we will try to help.

Welcome horatio54 to the Newmar forum and irv2.
Give this LINK a try has older Newmars with pics. Will be hard to find older brochures unless some one can e-mail them.
Looks like most Newmar owners do not want to part with their older coachs.

30' Scottsdales were built by Newmar '03 up to I believe '05. I have a 32' footer and it's a wonderful rig.

Newmar did make Class C's for a few years. They even made Class C units with the extra axle to accomodate the longer units.
There are several that show up at the Kountry Klub International Rally. You will probably never find a used Class C.

We have and 2001 Dutchstar #3368 which is 34' gasser and handles great.I don't belive you could tell the difference between 30'or 34'. I would like to be in the 36' range as you gain a little space in the rear bedroom area and also in your main cabin. I have put about 5k on it since Jan. of o6 and we love the coach. If you have checked them out I sure you have seen the quality as compared to some others on the market. Look around there seems to be some great buys on low mile coaches around. If you can travel for a buy try www.pplmotorhomes.com they look to have a great inventory and a few Newmars.
GOOD LUCK
