I was looking under the back of my coach with the engine running, and I noticed that the fan was not turning. i also noticed that the fan is not powered by a belt like on a car. It looks like it has hydrolic hoses going to it. later I looked under again later and the fan was now turning..On the trip my temp remained normal,,(about 195).. Is it normal for the fan to run sometimes, and not at times ? Any experts out there ?

Not an expert but if it is like my Monaco both fans are turned off and on by engine temperature. When the engine temp gets warm it starts the fluid flowing to the hydraulic motor which spins the fan.

Fan comes on as needed..Most cars now use electric or clutch controlled fans the same way..it saves energy and wasted horse power by running the fan only when needed..

On some earlier models, the fan ran all the time. About 2004 they changed to a fan that is controlled by temperature.
