If you don't mind, curious to the fares for the crossing? Did you have a towed as well? I'm in RI and never even thought of Martha Vineyard.

Enjoy your vacation!! We love MV and the fishing is great. Our family vacationed there every summer for about 20 years. Never got tired of it.

vette........ Check https://www.steamshipauthority.com/

That covers the ferries from Woods Hole, which I believe are the only ones that carry vehicles to the vineyard.

As JXFG mentioned, you leave from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven. They charge by length. We tow a Jeep Wrangler 4 door and are 59' bumper to bumper. The cost this year was $470 round trip including 2 adult passengers.

To get decent times/days, you pretty much have to make your reservations on the day they open them up for non residents in February.

Here we are on the return ferry trip yesterday. Tight fit on the outdoor, freight type ship. I prefer the large indoor one.
