I had the gen set on and turned on both A/C units while I replaced a cracked mirrored closet door in my 2006 Dutch Star master bedroom. Thank goodness the edroom unit worked fine as it was 91 degrees outside. Walked out into kitchen and hot air was blowing in that zone. I could not get front unit to run cool. Reset both zones the same again, but no change. Finished the closet door and went in to avoid anymore frustration. Any ideas on why one shut down and would not restart? I am a newbe to RVs and these RV electrical systems puzzle me.

It might just be the compressor starting capacitor. If it is you will hear the compressor attempt to start then shut down. It will cycle every few minutes. The cap is easy to replace and shouldn't cost more then $35 for parts.

Welcome Mteerjim to the Newmar forum & irv2.
Here is a PDF of your AC/HP setup that may help.
Here is a PDF for 5 button control.
Is your button control programed for both zones on cooling?
With the front AC off will still get some cool air out front because of full length duck system in coach ceiling.

Relays (contactors)are a common failure and not very expensive.

while we are on the topic my 01 dutch star will blow cold when first turned on but if you let it run all night the fan will not blow hard at all and it will start to get hot in the rv. i have tried auto and high fan and both seem to do the same thing. any ideas or suggestions to aide in further diagnosis ?

Ok, I got the answer, my gen. set wouldn't start either so I took it to the area Cummins repair shop. Turned out the governor was bad (code 19 for you Cummins owners). Because it would not adjust the RPMs higher, the second A/C unit was shut down due to lack of amps being generated. $350 bucks later and a new governor, both are working fine. I must say the Crosspoints Cummins shop has some fine service staff. I have used them twice and they don't treat me like the idiot I appear to be about this stuff.
