I have posted this on the New Rigs forum, but since it is a Newmar, I thought this venue was also appropriate.

Our new Baby Huey. Shown here just one week from the Newmar factory. We subsequently have driven it home, some 1,500 miles from the dealer in Minnesota we bought it from.

It is an Allstar 4188 Handicap Accessible model. Newmar does not make this model any longer (one of the casualties of the economy), but we bought the last chassis available. There are now 3 of these on the road.

There is a rear door on the passenger side with a UVL lift in the basement that unfolds, elevates, and lowers from the door to the ground. The bathroom is totally wheelchair accessible and a wheelchair can go from dashboard to bed with slides in.

What a nice ride. We look forward to many miles ahead.

Don

Hi Don,
Congrats on the new rig.

FYI, you must have pulled the trigger on your order just before I did. There was a model of the AllStar I wanted to buy. Knowing Newmar had one chassis left I was trying to get some specials approved. By the time all the communications was completed, the chassis was already sold. We were at Newmar to have some work done on the coach and saw your coach come off the line and park in the delivery lot. It was there, in the lot, the week we were there. I asked Newmar if another chassis could be acquired and the answer was no.

Not only did you purchase the last AllStar, I think you have the only 2010 AllStar. All things work out for the best. We will wait until our travels with the Gkids is complete. Then there will be a new coach out there for us.

May you enjoy your new coach as much as we have enjoyed our coach.

Lastly, consider joining the Newmar Kountry Klub. It's a great organization with lots of things to do, for owners of Newmar products.

Don: Nice coach. We visited with Lee at this same dealership and found him very helpful. We haven't purchased yet. They sure have a nice selection of coaches. How do you like the mid-engine so far? Rich

Congratulations!!! Keep us up to date on your travels. My only regret is not getting an All Star.

Gary,

Thanks for your best wishes, and to all who have replied. Sorry about ordering this Allstar before you could finalize it. We had been talking to the dealer since early July and knew that there was only two chassis left at that time. Then, in late July the dealer called and said he had one left. We pulled the trigger then with a big deposit and then worked out the details on the specials we wanted.

We are very pleased. There is so much to learn.

Don

Rich,

We have nothing to say but good things about the people at Steinbring Motorcoach. Jon, Lee, Judy, Dennis, Bill, et al. made our visit very special. They are a first class dealership. I wish they were closer to us. Jon and Lee know their product and deal fairly. They have gone out of their way to give us service we can brag about.

We are very happy with the mid-engine diesel. I don't have anything to compare it to since we have never owned a diesel, but it is not at all noisy, the coach drives like a dream, and we are told we will probably get better mileage. So far, the mileage (first 2,000 miles) is 6.5, 7.6, 7.13 (headwinds), and 7.9. Progressively better.

Don

Gary,

You mentioned you were at Newmar when our coach was finished. Some lifelong friends of ours were also there that week getting last minute warranty service done on their Dutch Aire. They snooped around as best they could and sent us numerous pictures of our coach in the final production phases. They also sent us a few of it being parked at the "back fence". Apparently, when a coach gets parked at the "back fence" it is ready to be shipped. We were at the dealer within the next 6 days sleeping in it in his dealership barn.

This has all been surreal. By the way, the Ginger Maple cabinets are unbelievably beautiful.

Don

Hi Don,
Was the Dutch Aire, your friends own, painted a solid dark red/burgundy?
