As of January 31, Newmar had only 6 Spartan chassis left for the 2011 Mountain Air.

What are they going to switch to - or will they limit that model year to those 6 chassis' and wait for the 2012 model year to hit?

They have a deal with Freightliner for all but the top 2 (?) models, which will stay on the Spartan K2 chassis.

Have to be honest, that seems like a bit of a downgrade to me. Not that I was unhappy with my Winnebago/Freightliner, I'm just happier with my Spartan. Especially customer service on Spartan, they have been exceptional. In fact, to be honest, Winnebago customer service was as superb as Spartan. I guess my ideal rig would be a Winnebago on a Spartan...

The Essex will be on the K2 and the King Aire on the K3, same as they have been.

I'm afraid I don't have that much money Don, looks like I'll be a Newmar Man for the foreseeable future. Getting all the kinks worked out though and it should be a good rig for a good long time. The main thing was fighting with Cummins about the oil in the coolant. We finally got Cummins to replace the entire engine with Spartan's help, which was their final chance to fix it before going Lemon Law on them (a process I was not looking forward to). But the thing is running like a champ now and I'm actually beginning to like my Cummins! :-)

As of Friday there were only 3 Spartan chassis left for the Dutch Star 43' models. They have been sold out of the 40' Dutch Star models as well as the new 2011 Mountain Aire Spartan chassis. They will now begin with the Freightliner w/450HP Cummins on the MADP. When they run out of Spartan chassis on the others, they will be 2011 models on Freightliner. They just switched over on Essex to 2011, but won't see any roll of the line until June.

Newmar has always been internet/web site challenged and there is no telling when the website will be updated to the 2011 models.

In the past it's been May or June.

Well, I understand the 2010s were little changed from 2009, so they just kept the same brochures to save money. When times are tough, that's a good decision to make.

However, since they're moving to a new chassis, they really can't keep the old brochures.
