You can't do the Oregon coast justice by staying in one place. I'd recommend you stay at the south end, the middle and the north end. Then you can easily tour the whole coast.
We prefer the state parks.

Canon Beach RV park is very nice. But really you’ll want to see it all.
Beachside was a nice state park.

Gladly your early in your 2020 planning. If you really want to enjoy the coast, start at FT Stevens state park.. maybe two nights. Work south to maybe Netarts Bay RV. Private park but great views. Then maybe south to Beverley Beach state park. Move again south to Salmon Harbor at Winchester bay. Then south to the south end of the dunes, then down to Brookings. There are a few really good places between Winchester Bay and Brookings, but I have not used any of them, so I will avoid comments. The Oregon Coast is best visited North to south and best weather is July to early October.

You definetly waqnt to run it North to South- easier turn outs VS trying to cross over the South bound traffic if you run it South to North. Best months are definitely July & August.
Happy Trails

We're just finishing up our last three days of an Oregon Coast trip. Since we live in Southern California, we came across at Brookings and headed north. We've done this trip at least a half dozen times.
We like to do our first stay at Turtle Rock RV park in Gold Beach. Not a great campground, but one of the better ones in the area. We stay there because we like to do the jet boat trip up the Rogue River (Jerry's Jet Boats).
The next stop is either Mill Casino or Bridge Bay in Coos Bay, or Winchester RV Resort (really nice) at Winchester Bay, a little north (23 miles). This trip we tried Pacific Shores RV Resort ( privately owned campsites and a little fancy) in Newport.
Our last stop on this trip was the Astoria KOA.

I am camping the Oregon coast as I type. Started in Arcata, then crescent city, then coos bay, then 4 or 5 more places. We stay at each spot 4 or 5 nights. Will finish up near Portland.
Find places that provide activities you enjoy. For me, this includes hiking, mountain biking, and beach walking.

We stay in Florence at Pacific Pines RV park every year for several days because we have friends and relatives there.
It's located somewhat in the middle of the coast so you could do day trips north and south.
You best have reservations on the coast for June and July as it's a popular destination.

We are traveling the Oregon coast now, you can’t stay in just one place honestly, stay a few days along the coast this State is gorgeous, start at Klamath river, Coos Bay, Florence, Newport and Seaside you will not regret then make your you way to Eugene and Crater Lake (the cherry on the top) enjoy it

Mill Casino RV Park is nice. Winchester Bay is another great option in the Coos Bay area. In Newport we like Pacific Shores RV Resort. As Dutch Star Don said it’s fancy, but the loops facing the ocean are wonderful. Beverly Beach State Park is nice, but at 38’ and 12’ 6” tall I think it’s too narrow and tree filled for us. Further south Sea Perch RV Resort is fantastic. Book early for the ocean front spots. Unbeatable views out your front window. Further north Canon Beach RV Resort is nice and Canon Beach is a neat town.

We liked Pacific Shores in Newport and Bay Point Landing in Coos Bay.

You have to stay at Pacific Shores for at least a night or two and explore the tide pools at low tide.
