For those with the cheap and dirty door Newmar stops(which allow your cabinet door, etc. to open when traveling on rough roads i.e. Alaska) pictured on the left, we replaced them with adjustable type on the right used on boats.

If you have the battery slideout tray like shown below-sooner or later(if you get off the Interstates) you will break the latch on the tray. To keep from breaking it instatll two pins(one on each side of tray) for proper support. Sorry about the dirt-still getting it off from "Top of World and Cassiar Highways".

Tip-for day/night window shades-pull down type riding on cords. Make sure the cords are not too tight as they will wear and break. Also the top mounting brackets should be tight so the shades do not move back and forth. Just restrung one-got cord at local hardware store. Not a hard job-easier than trying to get covered under warranty.

For those with the mid-engine AllStars keep an eye on your engine exhaust where it connect to the muffler. Due to the way the muffler is mounted there is a lot of stress on the exhaust hose(4"). Ours developed a small crack(which can be found by moving the chrome pipe back and forth). Temporary fix(until approved Newmar/Spartan fix) to strenghen it was to add a clamp(i.e. turbo type or similiar) over the small crack.

Placed this ball valve in heater hose to stop the heat coming from AC vents in dash when stopped in traffic. The Evans control valve on AC unit wears out and will not block the hot water as it should when you want to use dash AC.
If you have a different AC Dash unit you maybe able to do the same thing.
Make sure you get the see thru valve for full flow when needed. I used a couple of short 1/2" copper tubing to allow for clamps.

I spliced a coolant flush kit into my heater hose and later found a ball valve that fit between the flush kit. I leave the ball valve in the off position most of the time since I live in Florida. Before I installed the ball valve I had the evans control valve replaced twice, because of hot air coming out when I was using the airconditioning.

Gary,
A word of caution. I got some hunks of foam from a fabric shop and put them in my ceiling vents and shower dome. I live in SW Florida and the sun built up enough heat between the foam and the inner shower bubble that it deformed it.

I want to thank 007 on his idea for adding the two cabinets to the dinning area. We had a similar situation. After seeing his setup I went to Home Depot and bought two 18x30x12 wall cabinets. We then cut the two cabinets down to 9" depth. I bought a piece of oak lumber which we stained and finished. We also moved the table out about 4" and moved the electrical outlet up to above the table.

All looks great now. Will send pictures when available.

Have you ever watched your automatic awning bounce up and down and not retract? Chances are your enable/disable toggle switch is in the disable position. Here is a toggle switch cover to eliminate the possible problem(happened twice to us).

Just had the same thing happen to me on my 2006 KS. When I called Newmar they said that they had only 1 report of this happening. As I am out of my warranty I will be using your fix for it. Their recomedation was to take it to a dealer and have them torch it out and weld a new one in. It appears they knew what they were doing when they reduced the warranty to just one year, as parts are built to only last that long. This is true as I am in the process of replaceing the screws in the front door hinge, the heads of 9 of the 12 screws on the top hinge have popped off.

adventurers, That's why we did not bother with the factory-other than torching and rewelding the only other fix would be to replace the entire tray! I'm sure the 3 year warranty is killing them. We tried to get an appointment beyong our 1 year and they said no way!!!
