Our Newmar Bay Star

We would like to add solar to our 3124 2014 Bay Star.
If Newmar pre wires for panels does anyone know where they run the wire.
Also..We have 2 house batteries in front of motor and we would like to add 2 more. Has anyone done this and if so where did you put them.

We took our bay star 2903 to the dealer and had them upgrade our inverter, added 2 batteries in the compartment to the left of the door with new inverter. We had 2 - 150 watt panels put on the roof and added an outlet for solar only. We use it when we are out camping with no power. Don't need the generator except for a/c and microwave. We go along time without power. I want to add 1 more 150 watt panel and 2 more batteries under hood. We like to camp for 10 to 14 days just using solar. The outlet runs coffee pot, blender, hair dryer etc. We also watch tv at night. Works great.

I'm currious what the dealer charged you to install that? Do you have a break down for parts and labor?

2-6 volt batteries, 1 - 150 watt solar panel, 2000 watt 12V inverter/100 amp PFC charger/2 - 20 A AC breakers, 1 - 145 watt 30 amp hardwire. Approx. $1,550 in material & approx. $1,350 in labor. It was labor intense on the wiring. Went back and had another panel added. Panel is approx. $300

I worked with AM Solar out of Oregon to do a solar install on our BSS2903, I ended up with 2 Lifeline batteries in the front, and a 2000 watt pure sine inverter and 3 panels on the roof. We were able to do a test run in September where despite being in a campgound we didn't hook into power and went the whole weekend never dropping below 80% on the monitors, that included making coffee and toast in the morning and watching some TV in the evening.

Super happy with their work on my rig.

I have heard good things about them. We bought our RV at Guaranty in Junction City Oregon and decided to stay with them. Like you I love using solar. We have a gas refer and cooktop which helps us. We also have electric and gas heat. Definitely need the geny for our 2 A/C,s but everything else is good. I want to add another for a total of 3 also. We have been in sites with no power and people ask us why they never here our generator? I am very happy with solar.
