Outside Air ambient sensor

Have posted this on the Ford Chassis. Got some nice replys, but still cannot find. Hoping a Baystar or Canyon Star owners may have some input.
"Would like to move sensor to a better location. Records higher levels after engine has warmed up. Does anyone know where it is located? Also know of a better location?"

Show's alot hotter when running.

I think it would be a Newmar issue they put dash together give them a call if no one answers.

On our Dutch Star it's under the left head light assembly, attached to the metal brace.

Near the leveling system on this V10 chassis (driver side)

Is this the outside ambient sensor that is in your dashboard? If so I suspect it's using the same sensor as our 2008 has via the Scangauge, it's the intake air temp sensor.

With ours, the temp stays reasonably accurate as long as you're going down the road but reads much higher when you're in traffic. This sensor is actually used by the ECU to help determine fuel mixture, etc, so it's position, at least in the 2008 chassis, can't be changed.

As Clifftall mentioned, Ford would be able to tell you for sure.

I think he is talking about the outside air temp that almost all ford trucks and cars have in the drivers information center. It has nothing to do with the intake air timp. Have it on my Baystar and several ford trucks. They all read a little hot when you are setting in hot weather. I can't say I know where they locate the sensors though.

Yes, Outside air Temp. Running for hours in 30 degree weather, it read in the 50's. Last trip out in 50 degree weather, temp was reading in 70's - 80's on long runs. The temperature is correct when starting out but takes off when the Motor get's hot.

Im sorry, mine reads just about dead on with the outside air temp at all times. Even when you are parked with the motor off, or moving at any speed. Take it back its under warranty. That's why I don't waste money on extended warranty crap. I make them fix it under the free bumper to bumper wholeier then thou warranty! IF THEY CAN

Found it..... on the left side under the Horns, will move to a front location similar to the location on other MH's in the Ford Chassis forum.
