When we pulled into a campground today, I saw that we had lost the cover to the hot water heater. I sure thought that I had it secured good enough. As noted in our sig, we have a 2005 Scottsdale.
Can I get a replacement that will match the paint?
Who should I contact, Newmar or a Newmar dealer?

I felt like an idiot when I saw it missing. Really messes up the looks of the MH.

Thanks
Ben

On a rig as new as yours you should be able to get a new one from any Newmar dealer.

Ben, You will have to go through your Newmar dealer, Newmar won't sell directly to you unless your at the factory. Ed.S

You should be able to get a new door from any RV parts dealer. The appliances are not RV brand specific.

You can't just go to any RV parts dealer or you will be challenged with having it painted. I am sure a Newmar dealer can order it already painted for your coach.

I went to a couple of local RV parts dealers to find a temporary one, but could not find one that fit. I called a Newmar dealer in a town we will be at next week and they have ordered one. We want one that will fit the paint scheme. Thanks for all the replies.

Is checking this own your checklist for leaving a site? It will be on mine from now on.

I lost my cover last summer. I bought a white replacement one and had the dealer repaint it. Now I attach a key chain ring to the keeper tab that goes through the slot in the door. The only way the door can open is after I remove the ring.
I have checked and found more than once that the only thing that kept the door in place was the ring. I can't figure out how the tab gets turned and lifted to allow this to happen.
