PA Non-commercial Class B license
After consulting various people and trying to wade through the PennDOT manual, I gave up and called PennDot. After the required hold time, the nice gentleman on the line told me that I could go into the local testing station and get my learners permit for $5 and the additional endorsement to my license for another $8.50. No knowledge test. I would need to take the skills test and the air brake test only.
To confirm this information, I stood in line at the local testing station and asked the lady at the desk. She confirmed what PennDOT told me. Plus no parallel parking. After getting the permit, I can immediately go on-line or call the testing center to make an appointment for the skills test. No waiting.
Didn't have the check book with me today so I'll be heading back to stand in line again one day this week to get the permit. I'll let you all know if what happens is what I was told would happen.
