I just installed 7 Slide Roller Protecters (SRP) in my 13 Essex while I was in Nappanee for repairs. The install was pretty straight forward. The space between the tile and the wood Ramp has to be enlarged to fit the lip of the SRP. I used a Drimmel with a 1-1/2" Wood Bit that cost about $15. It worked great.

It is important to NOT remove too much wood as you want the SRP to be a little tight.

I needed the 32" SRP which cost $17/ea purchased from Joe in the Parts Dept.

I've been searching for a solution to the marks made in the tile by the slide rollers. I've tried door mats, plastic cutting boards, etc. Newmar's SRP is now my choice for stopping further marks in my tile.

BTW, anyone out there have any ideas how to reduce the marks in the tile from the slide rollers? Wax? Compound? 5000 grit wet sand paper? What?

Thanks

A good friend has a 2010 American Eagle with a FWS. I pointed out to him today that his slide rollers were marking his tile also. So it appears this problem is not limited to Newmars???? Apparently, tile and slide rollers don't mix!

I have a coach with 2 slides and carpeting on the floor. I'm not sure slides and carpeting mix either. I'm beginning to wonder if any of the RV engineers really have any idea how to design a slideout mechanism that won't damage floors or how frustrating it is for us to have to contend with it.
