Welcome flying fin to the Newmar forum and irv2.
Some people have had the problem you have and this LINK may help you out. It would be something to take up with Newmar to get resolved if you can not find a solution within the posts or maybe someone will come up with some better answers for you.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

flying fin...
Welcome to iRV2! You will find all sorts of great people here who will try to help when they can.

I did a search in the Newmar forum to help answer your question regarding others' paint issues.
This search is a little more specific...to what you are asking. If you look here...you will find many posts -that some may be of interest.

You can do searches by clicking the "Find" button up above...next to where you click "New" to start a new post.
Again...welcome to iRV2. We do look forward to your participation on the forum.

Our '05 DSDP is currently at Newmar getting new sides due to the paint (actually gel coat) cracking under the darker colored paint. It is a common problem and Newmar has replaced many coaches sides. Perhaps you should call Newmar, because it is covered by warranty. The only drawback is they have the coach two or more weeks.

Flying Fin as stated in a post GET ON THE PHONE with Newmar ASAP cracks or delam has been an on going problem for a few of the MFG as they were buying their fiberglass from the same vender.
During thev 2005 production year they changed and have had no problems to date [that I know of].
If you are out of warrenty Newmar will work with you.
Was at factory last Month and they were replacing Slides on 1 DS, 2 KS, 1 MA
One was out of Warrenty cann't tell you what the cost was. $0 Newmar did what was right.

the one main thing that anyone who has this problem must do is let Newmar know ASAP for warrenty reasons.
Remember the 3 year warrenty started when the original owner took delivery and yes as of Jan, 2008 there were a few 2005 on the dealers lots that never had a owner.

Thanks everyone. I did call Newmar and explained the paint problem, they said to take it to a reputable paint shop for an opinion and send them pictures. Yes I am out of warrenty.

How Easy are these Cracks to See????

I have gone over my Coach at least 10 times and see nothing 'Yet'
No Cracks or Delamination, Could I Just be a "lucky" one??? Or is it just not happened yet???

I am on my way to Nappanee on July 7 for some other issues and will be sure to ask!!!!

Rick

Rick with you living in "The Land of the Unknown Sun", the cracks start after being in the sun to long. Make sure you have them check everything.
Recieved invoice from Cummins that they changed out fuel bracket, while at Newmar, that was a recall item.
Will find out more what was done on Monday as that is the day I get the MH back from Newmar.
Joe
