It is not just Newmar.. Let me tell you the story of a part called wheel (Steering) and that tragic and fateful day..... (So much for that song)

When I got my Damon Intruder, (Workhorse) it had the "Delux" steering wheel, 2" bigger than "Standard" Leather covered. and completly blocked my view of the speedometer. I did some measurements and calculated the smaller "Standard" wheel would be no better so went on a search for an even larger one (That worked, and is still working)

Found the company that made the "Delux" wheel.

The Delux wheel is an option, about 350 bucks (347 as I recall) at the time.

The one of a kind, custom made, special order... 127 on my doorstep (Includes shipping and handling)

Yup, rather a big markup on that stuff at the factory.

But if you don't buy from Newmar you don't get to deal with Jeanie. She is worth the difference to me.

Get this. The wiper blades I purchased by phone from Newmar cost $65 a piece plus shipping. I walked into the parts room at Newmar and they have the same ones on the shelf for $31. It is 50% less if you pick them up at the factory store.

What gives?

Has always been that way plus can get 10% off if NKK member.
Maybe Jeanie can answer your question.

Old prices on the older parts, new prices on the newer parts. Found the same thing when we were there-the shelf items were much less than the stockroom parts-prices had not been updated. However found that when they were updated they were raised way beyond a normal markup! Goes back to what I said in previous posts-no method to their madness! They could use some management direction in the areas of pricing/marketing, etc.

A few years ago (before I retired) just writing a requisition typically cost $35. This had to cover paperwork, processing the order, shipping and receiving, inventory of the part, depreciation, overhead (insurance, workmen's comp etc), without including the part cost itself. So it was better to buy in quantity, but some of these items in the aforementioned posts may well be oneofs so expenses cannot be amortized over several parts.
Like anything and everything we purchase today we vote with our dollars. Newmar should be notified each and everytime a price is out of line else how do they correct their prices without feedback from their customers.

It's a plastic dash panel where the switches, back up camera, heater controls, radio etc mount. Only problem with ours is that someone got a little aggressive with cleaning and where the switch ID is, it has been rubbed off and written with felt pen. Doesn't look all that great. But for $350+, maybe it doesn't look that bad.

Now thats a bummer over aggressive cleaning lady.
I thought it might have been a problem with this part of your dash.
