Passenger Desk problem -toy inside?

Maybe someone out there had the same problem we have now.
We have a Newmar Canyon Star 3722 that has a pull-up and out desk on the passenger’s side front seat. My problem is my 18 month old Grandson put a something down inside the desk slot. There are buttons over screws (?) holding the panel that I believe I can remove to retrieve the object out the my grandson place in there. I just want to make sure the buttons can be easily removed and replaced without damaging the vinyl covered panel?
Let me know
Thanks!!

If it's the decorative type screw cover...…..the screw is inserted into the male portion of the metal snap (button). They're screwed into the wood to support or secure whatever they're securing. The vinyl cover contains the other half of the metal snap (female portion). Just like a jacket or pants, they snap together. Gently pry off the vinyl side of the snap.

Thanks Don.
I thought that what they were, just a button covering the screw. Wanted to make sure before I started the toy (or whatever he put down there) retrieval process.
Have a great day and thanks again
Randy

I'm not familiar with the passenger desk you have, but would something like this allow you to retrieve the object without removing the panel?

We have one of these and I've used it to retrieve items dropped in the televator slot.

Yes, I am sure it would have worked with this tool, but I have already removed the panel and retrieve the item which was a coaster not a toy. All is good now.
I will look into one of these tool for the next time and in case something go down the Televator.
Thanks for the help
