We'll be picking up our new '07 DS 4307 on Oct. 1. This is not our first MH, so we are pretty confident about the standard PDI procedure and what to look for. But I've been searching the owner's forum and have come up with a short list of critical issues that I otherwise wouldn't have known about, and would like to have any of you add to the list if I'm missing any major possibilities:
1. Post-cure paint issues, especially on dark coaches. (Ours is the Sea Green, so it is dark)
2. Sheared bolts on awning due to overtightening during factory installation.
3. Windshield wiper arm tightness, bolt torque, etc.
4. Tightness on outside rear view mirrors (top nut, I think?)
During my test drive (which is a condition of acceptance in my offer) I'll look for porpoising or indication of broken shocks. Saw one post on this - has this been a prevalent problem?
Thanks in advance, Bob

I don't think the shock absorber issue is a widespread problem. I don't recall hearing much about it.
Depending on how long your new coach has been in the sun and how hot the weather has been will affect any post cure problem.
My DSDP is 11 months old, and the post cure problem got progressively worse.
It's at Newmar now being repainted. I can only hope the problem doesn't return.
You may never have a problem, hopefully.
The post cure problem is a sidewall fiberglass and plywood substrate problem, although it may appear to be a paint problem.

Depending on how long the coach has been on the dealer lot, I also check the tires and have the batteries load tested, with you present. Notice the level of charge in the batteries when you arrive at the coach. They should be fully charged. Dealers have a reputaion for chronic battery neglect.

They may have use the coach for spare parts for other coachs of different brands.
