pigtail headlight socket

I have a 2008 Kountry Star DP3916 with a defective pigtail headlight socket manufactured by KRA International. The Newmar part # is 85515 and they are happy to sell it to me for $115 plus shipping.Does anyone Know where I can replace this socket or an interchange for less? Most automotive headlight sockets sell at parts stores for $4-$20. Thanks!

Hi Wrightwa,
Google "85515 headlight socket". You'll get some choices that may be what you need.

Get the number off your 2008 headlights,Google it,it will tell you from which car the headlights are. Then find what you need at your local junkyard.

Check auto parts stores. Many parts sold for rebuilding/repairing different lights.

Find a nearby auto body shop, and a dealer is ok too, that does a high volume of business. Front end collisions are the most prominent, as they require headlamps and pigtails because everything is so cramped. I retired about 5 yrs.ago after 30+yrs.in the business, and I'm shooting straight from the hip with you. We went through this in the early 90's with Honda's, and paid a premium for pigtails, even from a salvage yard, like $50.00 each, yes you guessed it, talking about gouging, they knew there was nothing available from OEM except the wiring harness. If the 1st one doesn't want to help you, move on, you will find an honest person that will help you. Good luck, happy trails and travel safe.

Thanhs all.I found a pair of heavy duty sockets on ebay for $14 and spliced one on yesterday. It works fine and actually is a much superior part to the original.I now question the quality of some ot the Newmar components.
