Places to own a Motorcoach lot

I’m interested to evaluate ownership of a lot in a nice high end resort. Could viewers please comment on those resorts that have owned lots? It would also be helpful to know which places have either had a quick sell out of new or previously owned lots so we don’t get stuck with it if we choose to sell.

Thanks

What area of the country are you looking at? As far as quick resale, that kind of depends on the state of the economy and the asking price. At the "right price," any lot will move, but that "right price" might not be what you want to get out of the deal.

Bella Terra of Gulf Shores. Owned there for 9 years. As TJ said, at the right price any lot will move...amenities of the lot etc. I’ve seen some sell fast and others not.

ORI is gorgeous - rent or own. Most own. Don't know anything about resale.

Are there any non-RV resort or non-RV park campgrounds at around 7,000' in the Rockies, where the Summer highs do not exceed the low 80s, full hookups, 6 or less sites per acre, low tax state/area, and Not A Money Pit like a time share that is an easy in money pit of taxes, permits, insurance, maintenance that you cannot easily get rid of?

Also, it opens by Easter and closes after Thanksgiving and has a Costco and Cracker barrel within 100 miles.

I have liked boon docking in high Rockies govt parks and forests (no hook ups) to get away from the hot hell of So Calif. However, I may want a more refined site with hook ups for Spring thru Fall camping (I enjoy late Spring and Fall snow) in my senior years (middle-old age is 80s), if I give in to the urge for a 2020 SuperStar of VTDP.

I am guessing there are over 500 such places in Florida, probably more. There are two or three within a few miles of where we are wintering. Several of our friends have purchased lots in one of them within the past month.

Like someone else said, the economy drives the prices and how easy/hard these are to get rid of. I was shocked to find out several of our friends are paying up to $7,000 in closing costs.

Lots of options out there, but for us we really like Hilton Head Motor Coach Resort. One of the main reasons is the mature landscape, with both 100yr old Oak trees with moss, the palms, as well as the smell of the pine trees. Take a look at the video on the web site, and don’t be confused with the HHResort Marina. Good luck I’m sure you will get a ton of feedback. Rent for a couple of wks and check it out. Good luck

We bought in Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort in 2012. We both had parents living and HHI was within an eight hour drive by car to home if we had to return quickly. Since then both parents have past but we remain owners just because we love HHI and the people we have met. There are 401 sites all owned and with an inventory of about 10 sites for resale, properties sell quickly if priced correctly. We use to have a much larger inventory but after we brought in a real estate company to handle sales, prices have gone up and inventory down. Many sites have been upgraded the past 2 years and the Resort is one mile from the beach. Can't beat the location. If interested in renting first, you must go through the Resort's rental site or the Resort's office. We own site 359, quiet, landscaped paver site located on the perimeter of the Resort, backs up to woods. If looking for lower Atlantic location this is one to check.

Check out Blue Water Key. The lots in the link that have a blue perimeter are the ones currently for sale. 10 miles from key West https://bluewaterkey.com/own-here/

I echo both ewlee's and 67vette's comments about Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort. We have owned there for several years and are happy with the resort and the resale reports we receive.

Hi Breezy2006,
Consider:
1. The Dell - Sevierville, Tennessee - There is more to do here than you can shake a stick at. An example is https://www.rvparkstore.com/rv-lots/...sevierville-tn The resort is 1 mile off the Parkway and very quiet.

2. Laurel Branch at Olde Beau, Roaring Gap, North Carolina at https://www.oldebeaumotorcoach.com/ A place to chill out.

3. Wildflower Creek at North Carolina Highlands Plateau at Luxury RV Resorts A place to chill out.
