Poll: Newmar Owner Ages - are we atypical?

Please vote by clicking an option in the poll above, with age of YOUNGEST owner of your RV (if you are two), and whether you are Newmar Kountry Klub (NKK) members.

Background: Trying to figure out if Newmar owners skew older than industry average, or if it's just the NKK members, or if it's just the NKK members that attend NKK rallies. And maybe if there is a large group of under 65 or under 50 or ?? ages, the NKK and or rallies can include new activities that appeal to "next generation" RVers? DO WE EVEN NEED different, new activities for younger people?

Because, according to online sources, RVers are increasingly younger, but I'm not usually seeing it in places we stay. For example, this article:
https://rvtravel.com/rving-not-a-bab...ustry-anymore/
and quote from it:
“Frank Hugelmeyer, president of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), presented similar numbers. Eight out of 10 RV owners are under the age of 65 and 60 percent of RV purchases are by first-time buyers, he said.” <-- 80% under the age of 65?! Flip that percentage and it seems to be what I've seen in most places...

and this one, which discusses some differences between the first of the Baby Boomers and the last of them:
Baby boomers not all alike

At any rate, please do vote in the poll - results are anonymous :-)

I will also poll the largest Newmar group on Facebook - please vote in only one of the polls, here or on FB :-) Thank you!

Mobile App users: to vote in polls:

Poll: Newmar Owner Ages - are we atypical?

I can't find a poll, either, but I'm 50 and DH was 55 at the time of purchase 2 weeks ago. We are first-time buyers and have not been accepted into NKK yet.

I am 67, DW is 54. We bought our MADP last year, first RV purchase, full-timers. I would never join any club that would have someone like me as a member.

Had many TT's back in the 70's than a class C grew out of that fast, had two SOB's for ten years than at 54, when I retired, bought my third Newmar and traveled the U.S.A. and Canada now age has grounded me and I just have the friends on irv2 to consider, safe travels everyone.

In the poll I put I am not a NKK member...will probably join after I take delivery August 2018. This will be my first motorhome but I have owned a 5th wheel and a travel trailer, probably around 35 yrs. old when I purchased my first one. If I were not retired when I own the Newmar, I would probably not join NKK due to rarely if ever attending any event. Retirement changes things (I hope...28 weeks to find out...)

I don't think youcan extrapolate overall RV data or trends to Cl A HMs in general.
We started in 20s w a DIY conversipn van...recently at 68 moved up to Newma VTDP...and loving it.

45 and DW is 36, and just picked up our first RV of any kind last week, a 2018 Bay Star. Not NKK members since we just took delivery, but will consider it in the future.

This subject is very interesting to me because I never thought I'd be a class A RVer. DW & I were avid tent campers and loved it, nothing quite like being in touch with Mother Nature (DW was a backpack tent camper). At ages 53/56 we got a 17' TT, not too far from tent camping, but wanted to get out of the sun & wind sometimes. Well, apparently that was the crack in our armor--4 years later a 33' class A MH is making a whole lot of sense.

Of course it's an age thing for us, we want more comfort now but don't want to give up the adventure. It's comforting having all of you and your experience behind us--Happy Travels everyone!

We ordered our first DSDP in 2000 when we were 52 and 53. In 2002 we ordered the second DSDP. We traded that off in 2015 and bought the present Country Coach. Probably should have stayed with Newmar!
