My previous coach, a 2015 Sunseeker had a failure at year 1 and was replaced under warranty. Currently my rear AC has failed, I have an appointment scheduled to get it fixed. It was put into service late June 2018.

Rear one still running well.

2014 Newmar With Penguin II Issues

We have a 2014 Dutch Star with three Penguin II heat-pump AC units, all which have been replaced. The back unit lost a compressor the first year, the middle unit lost it's compressor a year later, and we replaced the front unit last year. While at the dealer for the middle unit replacement, they had one out of the box failure. Four years as full timers and we expect to replace a unit each year.

That's pretty bad when you have to plan and budget for one new A/C unit each year! Knocking on wood - mine are still good, but well out of the scope of this survey.

Full timing since 2010 in a 2006 Fleetwood. Both AC/HP are still working. Hope thatís not a jinx!

2019 Ventana. On my list to have dealer look at is a heat pump that makes very loud squeal. I believe it's bad or going bad. Only one makes the very loud squeal.

2015 Canyon Star had 2x13.5k AC/Heat Pumps 1x13.5k AC/Heat Strip in the garage.

AC/Heat strip died 4 days into the first trip - entire unit was replaced

One AC/HP unit had a fan motor that gradually failed, replaced motor at 9 months

Second AC/HP unit had a freon leak and components were replaced at 11 months

When we bought the '19 Ventana a requirement was that there would be 3 AC units so we had redundancy.

The zone 1 heat pump on our 2017 Ventana LE failed within two weeks after we took delivery. The rear unit has worked perfectly so far as well as the front replacement unit. The only other quirk I have noticed is the rear temperature sensor seems to always be two degrees cooler than the front.

2017 with two 13.5 Penguin II. Both failed in the first year. Rear unit dumped refrigerant into the coach. Front unit lost refrigerant to outside.

Had a Baystar with the 13.5s and one of them went the first year. Our DS has had the 15s on 24/7 since it got home as it's always plugged into 50 amp service whether at home or on the road. Haven't taken the lids off yet in 3 years and they are still working perfectly.

Not sure what the purpose of a Poll is for this...Pretty much no matter what significant component you ask about, a large forum will get many folks to respond how bad it is.
Of course nothing wrong about eliciting tips from folks about common symptoms and what the recourse was.

Are you asking how many have the same system and didn't have an issue?
It's still statistically very soft. The manufacturer has real numbers based on build rates and repair / replace rates (EPUS: expense per unit sold). But very unlikely they will share that data with anyone.

Also, there is a formal Poll function on this forum. No need to add up responses if you word the poll well.
