Question Power Awning

I have a 2005 DSDP 3815 with the weather pro power awning. I would like to attach a sun screen on the front edge of the awning but if I do this, I will need to disable the automatic retract feature.. Does anyone know what the correct procedure would be?? Or has anyone done this before and could share..
Thanks, Keith

I don't know about adding the sun screen but there should be an on / off switch for the Auto feature on the main control box. Could be located on the top of the box.
I very seldom use this feature unless its very windy or could get that way over night then I might decide to use it. Most time I just leave it off.

I have an on-off switch on the back side of the controller box. I can't see it from the front but I can feel the toggle switch with my hand. A mirror helps me determine which direction is off.

Be sure and anchor down the ends of the awning. They can go airborne if not tied down.

Glad you asked that Keith. We have a "Patty-O-Shade that we used on the last MH and loved it. Not only for shade but it adds a little privacy. The new MH, like yours has an automatic. I dug out the instructions (three posts here before I could get them out and read them) and as said there is an on/off switch on the control panel.

Yes, there are sunscreens available. We made our own.

One of the nicest ones has two parts one part about 18" deep that will roll up with the awning. The second part hooks into the upper part for easy removal.

Don't forget tie downs and the off switch!

Power Awning

Thanks guys for the info. I found the switch on the side of the box. We are in Mission TX at the Oleander Acres RV park. The weather has been good, 80's in the day 60's at night. Been a little windy a few days.
Thanks again,

Keith

You might want to add this a cover for the switch so it is not accidentially turned on!
