Power Cable/Pedestal table

The power cable for my Essex pedestal table which powers the forward and backward motion is broke. Newmar initially put me in touch with Villa. Villa informs me its a Newmar copy of their seat position mechanism. Chaz at Newmar parts has the complete part for $700 plus. The power cable is manufactured by Knusaga who evidently is out of business. Wondered if anyone on the forum knows of a source for this cable. I am going to try and rebuild the internal metal strip if I cannot find a replacement. Looked on Ebay and found some but not exactly the same. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Brandon

Hi Don

I have not disconnected the cable yet so therefore do not have good picture to represent. I was trying to locate the part prior to disassembling the power tray mounting and bring it from under the couch. Its a basically a 6" metal cable with square ends encased in a plastic sheating. When I bring it out from under the couch I will get a picture.

Thanks

Just to show my age, that cable reminds me of the cable that ran from the old car speedometer to the transmission but about 6ft long.

You might want to check out a shop that repairs weed eaters and the like. They may have a drive cable that could be cut to length. I'm sure there's a "McGiver" solution out their if you can find it. If the guy at the weed eater repair place doesn't have something, he can probably point you someone else who can point you someone else... until you find a solution.

I have a vendor at work who is going to help with trying to replace metal cable. Like you said, has to be a way to repair this without buying the entire drive platform. I am really surprised Newmar does not have a source. I am sure I am not the first to have a need for this replacement part. Not sure on would want this power table on another coach!

Thanks everyone

I'm not familiar w the part or its function but guessing it's just a flexible drive cable. Is the problem the cable has broken, jammed or lose in the end fitting?
Is the inner cable removable from the outer casing?
Can the old ends be salvaged to reattach to a new cable?
