Power reels

Just out of curiosity, are the power hose and electric cable reels worth it? I know my current system isn't exactly fun, but would you get the power reels again?

"wnytaxman".....I know you're starting to look for a new coach. I personally feel that set up and break down of camp should be as simple as it can be, or it becomes a chore. My Monaco had a power cord reel that worked flawlessly for 10 years. I added a spring loaded water hose reel (like old garage air hose reels) to my Monaco. When I bought the Dutch Star, they were must have items. I also use a SaniCon macerator. I can connect all three connections (water, power and sewer) in under 2 minutes. The Newmar Dutch Star comes with a 50' cord which is really handy.

There has been one poster that had the internal connections on his power reel go bad, but I believe that was an isolated incident.

I would not be without them Especially the power cord reel.

Don, does your new ride electrical reel power in and out? I'm thinking of installing a reversing switch on mine but have not dug into it. I suspect you have done that mod at some time on the last coach.

Love my power cord reel !
Water reel is a bit of a pain on mine due to part of the reel being blocked by one of the sewer lines. Have to be more carfull feeding it onto the reel, or you'll come up 5' short, and have to pull it all out and start over !

I added an electric cable reel to mine and wish I had done it a long time ago. I would not be without it now.

I would not be without it either. I did have 2 fail, but these were redesigned in 2013 and should be trouble free now.
