We are headed to Camp Newmar for our appointment to fix the winshield - cap separation. Our privacy curtain on the 05 MADP is a pull curtain with strings. The connectors for the pull rod are connected about every 4 or 5 folds. The strings were bound up and I had our shop foreman take them apart and remove the strings. Now they just bunch up as you bring them back or you have to fold each pleat. We would like to change the system out for power shades or pull down. It is to be fixed under warranty at any rate. Any ideas of a better way?

I do not have pull cords with my pleated shades just a 10" plastic rod at ends. The electric maybe what you want but they pull down from the air vent deck above windshield. Mine have work well for us just have to reach, when they change something sometimes the old is better.
Have a safe trip.

I guess you are talking about the front windshield night shade. To have the power fitted mat require alot of changes not apparent. The upper header may require reworking to accomodate the motor, the "A" pillar covers may have to be replaced with a type suitable to guide the curtain, and maybe more.

I don't mean to make it sound more than it is, but, honestly it usually is.

Our 03 Essex had the plastic rod and worked great. I may ask for them to put that one in instead of the string pull. It seems to me the connectors were every other one in the Essex. Thanks

We are in the process of changing out the entire "pleated system" to a combo power/pulldown system. Unfortunately due to the shape of our front end area the "new" type power shades will not fit the entire area. We are ordering custom shades(Best Blinds.com) and will have final results soon(I hope).

Please post the process for the custom order and the satisfaction once you are installed. This is what we think we want to do.
