Question about HWH Active air
Having a 2016 DS (no tag) with the V Ride system, I was thinking of having the HWH Active Air system added, but I wondered if the V ride limitations on up vs down travel (side to side) will allow this system to work. The reason I'm asking is if I park the coach on a slab that is aprox 1" out of level side to side, it will lift the low side rear tire off the ground to level on the jacks. Anybody have any input on this?

I suggest you call HWH direct. The engineers that designed the Active Air system will be able to answer your question with certainty.

I am a novice when it comes to the workings of active air system and the advantages of such. When I read your post, I am reminded of a problem I had on my old (2013) Phaeton. I would get a excess slope light when I would go to level while parked on an spot. 1" is not that much out of level IMO. My problem was that the HWH system was not dumping the air bags before the jacks would extend, thereby running out of jack extension length. Do you use auto level or manual level?

I already called HWH (twice), Freightliner (twice), and Newmar (multiple times), and none could give me an answer. When I level with the jacks, I usually use auto level if the site is not bad and then I drop the rear a little so it still shows level on the HWH jack control, but enough to get the roof to drain to the rear. The auto level on the jack system seems to work pretty well (better than my old Baystar) and does dump the bags before leveling, but was looking for the advantage of the active air system. If the suspension design won't play well with it, I can't see spending almost 10k for another gadget.
